The game is bad, and it's making me sad

I went full blindfolded mode when I got the game, I only saw the (steam) reviews and trailer and got myself excited, hoping for an incredible oblivion rework (a 19 year old game), a game that I so profoundly love, then I go boot the game up and find that it's beautiful but then I realize.

The game is obviously beautiful running on UE5 but the UI is significantly worse, SOMEHOW the combat is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worse now only being 3 light attacks and throw a heavy in between that chain and that's your amazing reworked 60usd combat, the performance is BAD ( GTX 1080 and a Ryzen 7 5800x) how am I getting less than 60fps on medium and with some things on low bro, how??? also the same jank from oblivion is here but on 60 dollars bro this is so epic.

Why do people suck bethesda off for this kind of diarrhea? I know they might've made Skyrim and Morrowind but holy christ man what is this?

Original Oblivion at least had the excuse of being made in 2006 which is completely understandable and even then, it had it's own captivating charm, but now since it's running on UE5 it looks so different and so devoid of color and the whimisicalness that made Oblivion be Oblivion (which could be argued to be subjective since that is the trade-off for the "realistic" graphics).

It made me realize that I don't like playing Oblivion anymore even though I love it so much and, that one should not be subject of the fondness of memories, I almost thought about not refunding the game, but this is just sad.

With all that said everything is not as bad as it seems, Skyblivion (a mod for Oblivion in the engine of Skyrim) looks like is gonna come out this year and it looks real promising.

have a good day guys and don't stay stuck on endearing memories, but rather go and make some new ones.

also if you like the game it's okay bro, it doesn't matter as long as you like it, but understand that it's not good.

1080 is ancient. Yeah I’d probably be mad too if I tried running a game from 2025 on 10+ year old hardware. I like it and it’s good. Guess you’re wrong, that sucks.

True, true. Punching now only lets you hit 5 times and then you have to wait forever just to punch again. I miss the old Oblivion when I used to just keep smashing the attack button until the enemy dies.

Running a triple-A game on a 1080 is asking for bad performance, and that's coming from somebody still gaming on a 1660 Super. I agree it SHOULD run okay on a 1080 at low-medium, but optimization is trash nowadays.

lol man if I had the 2080 that the game itself recommends I would be getting around 20fps more, an insignificant change if im gonna spend around 250dlrs to not even get it at above 100fps, be for real
