lost 88 minutes of progress

Wondering if it has happened to anyone else because the game had a fatal error when closing so I'm pretty sure it completely erased and reset my game.
Edit 1: So whenever I boot the game I have to do onboarding. So the game is completely unplayable. The game also has a fatal error when closing the game so I will have no idea what is causing it to crash.
Edit 2: There may be two programs that you need to allow for the game to properly boot and save correctly.

How the game autosaves every load screen. did you walk around the whole time in the same area without quicksave?

I manually saved before I closed the game. When I started the game again it started with all the config menus after all the shaders were compiled.

ive been having the same issue and when i save it says disk full so i have yet to have a save game

Same happened to me, it seems windows defender blocked Oblivion Remastered from writing save files onto my documents folder.

Same happened to me. I lost 3 hours of progress when I decided to reroll.

if you still have this problem:
In "%userprofile%\Documents\My Games" create the folder "Oblivion Remastered" inside create "Saved" and then another one inside Saved named "SaveGames"
This fixed the problem for me

After closing the game from the menu for the first time, it gave me a crash error. When I opened the game for the second time I got a message from windows defender telling me it blocked Oblivion from accessing the my documents folder, I allowed the game to change it, but the damage was already done and I had lost everything. The game started to load shaders for the second time and it was as if I opened the game for the first time.

Thanks, already done that. It's just a shame that this even happened. Having to start all over again from those prison tunnels is tedious. It takes me like 15 minutes to create my character at the start of the game.

Mine has been crashing after i leave the church, after i saved jaufree from the mythic dawn. Cant leave the church. Gonna try to go back a save or 2 and run it out again

Since Morrowind i took the habit to save all 5 minutes to avoid lost few hours.

I received a 'Fatal error' today, and all my saves are gone. I don't have a 'SavedGames' folder within the "%userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved" folder, but considering I had no issue launching the game and continuing from where I had left it from the previous day (regular quick saves, etc.), I imagine the fatal error actually ended up deleting the 'SavedGames' folder? Otherwise how did I have savepoints to load from in the first place.

edit: re-launched the game and my character is back. :S
