the original had an iconic and recognizable look now its just all brown it looks deader than fallout 3

whats the point of remastered when you need mods to make the game look better than a game from 2006.... only for it to still look worse and run horribly on a NASA PC

ive seen enough gameplay to tell, it just looks like every other UE5 game thats ever been made. the soul of the original is completely gone

Better is very subjective. Many people want the exact same game, with no changes other than visual improvement. That is the safest route for developers - changes need to be handled with exceptional care. Especially fringe political changes.

For example, if there was a raven shield re-release with just nicer graphics, it'd be a wild success beyond anyone's dreams - that game was perfect but it looks like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in 2025.

I think they turned a lot of greenery into tan/brown/sandy/sad in that youtube video, which is unfortunate cause it looks like an entirely different biome, but for the most part the visuals are a decent improvement anyway and the colors can be fixed with mods.

Probably the argument is about whether or not remakes should be considered slop by default. You're probably right, they are, but sometimes slop is nice to have. If every dinner was a gourmet masterpiece, no dinner would be.
