Check your active effects. It could be a disease, or perhaps an enemy has damaged your luck with a spell or poison. You will need "Restore Luck" potions if you can get your hands on them- or you can make them. :)
Diseases can progress after sleeping too, which could be why it changed so quickly. In this case, you'll need a Cure Disease Potion!
Hope this helps!
i started a new character.
In combat. if attributes are damaged it gives you a on screen notification which is easy to miss. Make sure you have no bounty and your fame is greater than infamy. Then you can pray at a chapel alter everyday to restore the attributes.
I think this is a random bug. I have the same thing that appeared on my strength and endurance via a -10 penalty. My character isn't sick, and going to pray doesn't change anything.
Nothing appears on the character sheet. I don't think I saw any notifications. I put my character to sleep. All the information on their sheet indicates nothing that could explain the appearance of these penalties. There are no curses, illnesses, or reductions in infamy or reputation, and I haven't been imprisoned.
Excuse me, I use a translator :)
You'll need >25 Restoration to cast them, though. But they don't cost a lot of magicka and should easily be doable near the beginning of the game.
The only thing is I'm having trouble finding all of them, I've found 3 of them but some Temples don't seem to have anybody selling spells, not sure what's up with that.
You can also make potions, but finding the ingredients can be hard at times.
Note that the spells and potions will not work if the attribute is red because you currently have a disease. Go to the magic>magic effects tab first to make sure it ain't a disease. If no debuffs are listed there, then your attribute was drained and you can restore it with the restore spells. If it IS a disease, you need the Cure Disease spell (>50 Restoration required) or potion or altar. If it's a poison, simply wait it out, you'll have a debuff icon with a timer down near your health bar.
It's called Porphyric Hemophilia
The "Dremora" units have enchanted weaponry (more often the higher level), and it is not uncommon for them to have "Destroy <stat>" or "Disintegrate <gear>" on their weapons. Being both "fire and forget" (as soon as your effected - the damage is done), it's always good to have a few repair hammers on you, and some potions of "restore <skill you use a lot>" to assure you don't get gimped too hard.
For example - if a guy comes at you with "Destroy strength", they will lower your weight cap on each landed hit, but you won't know it until "Your strength is being destroyed" is already displaying on your screen.
Try checking in with the mages guild in Anvil, I think that's where the restoration specialists live.
