Whats with the difficulty
Just started playing. On "adept," I can just mindlessly run into a pack of enemies and spam attack and they all die. On "expert," I can pretty much only fight one enemy at once. Is there not a reasonable difficulty?

it's oblivion, difficulty scaling has always been wonky
Play Dark Souls.
Playing at higher difficulty will get you more XP. This game gives XP to each individual action. The higher the difficulty, the tougher the enemies, and the more actions you'll need to take to defeat them -- attacking more often, repairing your gear more often, crafting consumables more often, etc. And thus, the more XP you'll get. Therefore, playing this game at a higher difficulty generally lets you level up faster. That's a pro tip for all of you. I'm playing at Master difficulty and when I got out of the opening dungeon areas, I was already level 3.

Yes the scaling of difficulty levels is hilarious and insane. Current expert difficulty is almost equivalent to Skyrim "legendary" difficulty. People say your damage is only reduced by 1/3, but that's not true, it takes 3x the amount of hits or more to kill an enemy on expert vs adept. Master is far beyond even legendary. There is currently no reasonable difficulty level, it's either be an invincible killing machine or swing 40 times to kill one bandit and die in 3. The choices are adept (easy), legendary difficulty, or far beyond legendary difficulty. I am still finding expert playable though as long as I keep maxing endurance every level and play incredibly cautiously, and also dodge all magic users until they run out of spells before engaging

But your Endurance now regenerates your lost health, albeit more slowly during combat. The original game has no health regeneration at all.
