Can't disable ray tracing ?
Hi,

I have bad performance outside in the open area (40 fps) and I noticed that the reflections in the water seems to be ray traced (I see object that are not in my view reflecting in the water). I don't have RT on in the settings tho

Is that normal ?

Disable Hardware Lumen.
Hardware lumen is off and software lumen is on low. Is that the second one the problem ?

It can't be shut off fully because thats part of the game engine.
Turn software lumen off if you can. I've not really played with the ray tracing settings as I have a 4090 and it runs it pretty great with hardware lumen on.
I have a 3070 (sorry, forgot to mention it) and I can't disable the software lumen. The only way I can do it is to activate the hardware lumen on.
Are you running it with DLSS on or off?

It may be worth it to turn hardware RT on the lowest and try that. 3070 should be decent at it, maybe software RT is overwhelming your CPU.
DLSS On in performance mode. I didn't override it with DLSS 4 tho
Ok, lumen isn't hardware Ray Tracing. You can enable it separately as "use ray tracing when available" in the options in the editor but they are not the same thing.

Lumen is an all or nothing kind of thing. You have to design your lighting and levels around it or you are gonna have a hell of time otherwise so they have a very light lumen setting "low" and the "Give me the gas" setting which is high

Try that and try what Proxy said.

Great info, thanks. I've been too busy playing to bother trying out all the settings lol

turn off screen space reflections, it will change water to look normal and not have those nasty rt reflections that break when you move camera or have weapon equipped
I won some FPS indeed (45 to 50 with drop in the mid 20s).
- I changed my DLSS to DLSS 4 with NVidia.
- I've put shadows and render distance to intermediate.

- Changing other graphic settings doesn't change much (or lowering more).

I still have stutters tho but seems very common to a lot of people.

If it's off in the settings, it's off.
There are some reflection even without.
