What is Body Type 1/2
The question might be harder than you think.
From a termonology perspective, it can be a few things. ie.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/body%20type
the type commonly used for the text of a piece of printed matter (such as an article, newspaper, or book) as distinguished from the varying type used for such items as headlines, appendixes, footnotes, or advertisements

Now as you might see, this has nothing to do with the human body.
There are other non common meanings, ie. some use body type as a way to desribe the shape of a persons body.

Look below
https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/body-types#body-type-definition

ie. Triangle, Hour glass, Oval, etc.

With that out of the way. Does it make sense to change sex (Male/Female) with body type A/B (it does not really tell us what form each of these are)?

Could we have had both? Ie. Male with hour glass body type (I don´t know what letter hour glass is)?

Does it really matter in a game? well to me it seems odd, as this change have lead to confusion about what it really is. But if you ask me, then its not really a big issue ofc.. its just well.. odd to me... I would never skip/buy a game based on it, unless it ruined immersion.. ie. if my character was refered to as "body type A" but that does not happen in this game.

Here are the character creation in both.

Are you surprised about the meaning of body types? what would be your solution to this "very minor" debate?

As always, I hope all of you whom got the game are having fun with it and while I did not want to play Oblivion with updated graphic/audio, I fully understand why some would.

Have a wonderfull day.

Masculine/Feminine would be an alternate meaning for it.

There are different body terms for different applications.

Such a stupid change. It created an unnecessary step when I created my character because I had to toggle body type and compare to make sure my cat person was a dude.

I did the exact same thing, not only that its so frivolous and insincere...they reduced it to a binary by avoiding a binary. Its still type 1 and 2 they left every other gender aspect in the game it was nothing but a wink and a nod to the weirdos.

But sex of the character, does not have anything to do with body type.
So that makes no sense? I was under the impression, that your khajiit just picked if it wanted to be hour glass or triangle in its body type.
It's short for men and womb-men

What does that even mean

What do you think it means (without using ChatGPT)

It's a dehumanizing objectification, plain and simple. Much like how a laptop is a type of computer, or a spoon is a type of utensil, it is language used to delineate an object instead of addressing an immutable characteristic.

i recall they changed the gender job application thing to body types and pronouns in the west & EU at the start of 2017.

I thought body type A was the same thing as Body type 2, and Body type B was the same as Body type 1. But I might be confused on this.

But why would you attach "1" to hourglass and "2" to triangle? Instead of calling them hourglass or triangle? There is no space issue, there is no UX issue (if anything, you obfuscate it even worse with 1 and 2), so what issue *is* there, really?

There is nothing like that in the US. I’ve never heard of such a thing. And how the h*** would a normal person know which is which.

Nah, that's not true at all. My application was completely without such nonsense.

Plus - a government is not a place of authority. I could name other governments which did some horrible things as "experts". And you would be equally right to dismiss their "authority".
