Unfriendly Competition bug

I followed Toronir to the garden next to his shop, where there is also a well, but he and Agarmir just stand there and don’t talk. Is this a bug, or did I miss something? Has anyone else encountered this?

I solved the problem. You just need to walk around near them, and the cutscene will start.

That is correct. You have to be close. It annoyed me at first, but I found out what was wrong with a little persistence.

I actually had to talk to Thoronir and he played the voiceline about following him. Upon exiting the conversation, the scene continued and the quest could continue.

This was the first sidequest I did and had the same problem. I really hate that you don't know if you're doing something wrong or the quest has bugged. Not a good start.

I'm having a issue. But after this part. When I follow the second dude to his house. He hasn't come out and I've been waiting for him to leave for like 2 hours.

You need to wait more. Eventually he's going to get out.

I sneaked close enough without being seen. Close enough to even pick pocket. It's not just "You gotta be close enough". You gotta stand right in front of them in a specific spot. Don't Sneak.

in front of them is two bushes: Go first person, center the camera with thor on left and arg on the right with the two bushes in front and center. I remember wondering the same thing all the way back in 2006 lol its weird
