Are characters meant to be ugly?
I didn't figure out how to make my character look pretty in the customization screen. Did I miss something?

Bethesda games always looked like this.
UE5 does not change much, as they still had to work within the style.

One thing Bethesda has never quite figured out is how to make a proper character creator. They have all the sliders and such, but somehow it always, from even way back in the day, always ends up looking like bad. It's why a lot of the more popular mods for their games always make the faces (and bodies of course) look better because Bethesda's engine (and I guess this subsequent engine) just doesn't do a lot of things well, one of which is character creation.
I think the khajiit are cutie patooties

The default character looks good, but the randomized faces look awful. If you fiddle with the settings, putting everything to the middle (brow height, etc) you can get a decent looking character

Ok... I still think FallOut 4 characters look better, though
Skill issue.

leftists and their small hat handlers are enemies of objective beauty, so yes
Yes. It's literally oblivion.

Fallout 4 had a pretty robust character editor, it was just tedious to use.

Meanwhile I’m hungering for some scars to rough up my pretty male Dunmer :tesiv_sheogorath:

It´s a Bethesda game, so yeah I believe they have to be ugly.
After about an hour or so in and out of Showracemenu I managed to make a pretty hot twink lmao

But the sliders are super weird and are difficult to work with. For some reason some characters looks like they have 10 different appearance mods installed
