Crashing when opening inventory in open world
Title

cpu - 5600x ryzen
gpu - Radeon rx 5700 xt
32gb ram

Ive reinstalled drivers a few times, verified files, overclocked/undervolted, anything i can think of and i still get a FATAL ERROR 20%-30% of the time if i open any menu or inventory while in the open world. doesn't happen in doors. I've tried lowering all settings, raising all settings, frame gen on/off.

Any ideas?

FIXED - go into amd software, gaming, graphics, swap whatever global gaming experience you have to default. This fixed my crashing entirely.

I'm getting the exact same issues, depending on the graphics settings it usually crashes after opening and closing the inventory or a few times.

same here, game runs smooth in 60 fps on rx 5700 xt (gpu) and ryzen 7 3700x (cpu) but when i open inventory in open world a couple of times (usually 4-6 times) it crashes. if they wont patch it ig i will just return it :steamsad:

Same issue happening with Radeon rx 6700 xt. Bumping here to boost the issue more on the developer's radar.

I had the same issue with inventory crashing in the open world for 5700xt. Fix 5 here worked for me. Running the game through AMD Adrenaline and using default GPU settings in Adrenaline. https://www.minitool.com/news/the-elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion-remastered-crashing.html

Bump.
Got a friend with the same issue.
Hes running it on a 5700x3d and a 9070xt w/ 32mb ram.

Im running it on a 7800x3d with 9070xt, same graphics drivers w/o the issue trying to help him out with ideas on fixing it.

I fixed this by changing the amd software settings from performance mode to default, haven't had a crash since
I was getting the same crash just now, whenever I opened inventory or changed gear - I tried all the usual unhelpful stuff you find online "bro just delete this file, disable overlay" that never actually works.

what DID seem to work for me was simply leaving the town I was in, and then trying again.
I don't know if the game doesn't load properly on start and a "level" transition fixes it or something, but I went from being able to repro it every time to it stopping just by walking out of town.

so that would be my rec - trigger a load screen.
Wow same - also 5700 xt. I notice that after I crash I will up my fan settings, lower graphics, and wait for things to show more nominal temps and restart.

Crashes seems to happen more frequent after the first time but definitely any time I’m doing anything with inventory including looting.

Out of curiosity, what happens if you try the following

Change the power management of your gpu via amd/Nv control panel to

If that doesnt help, revert that change then try changing power management profile via power options (right click windows button on taskbar) in windows to Balanced or to High performance?

Then try both gpu and cpu power option together if you still get crashes.

Do you have vsync disabled with your FPS uncapped allowing frames to spike while in the inventory menu?

yea you aren't alone... I got the latest drivers n ♥♥♥♥ and sill crashing. i guess just wait for them to fix something on their end
I see these threads every day filled with a lot of "same here" and no answers, and some people say "update your drivers" or "clear your shader cache" but nothing you can do will fix it, it's up to the developers to release patches for it which they haven't done on Steam yet.
