Oblivion is a better game than Skyrim, original or remaster.

This game is 10x better than Skyrim. The graphics made it even better.
definitely a better game, but its also more elder scrolls, if you played Skyrim but never played original Oblivion, you're going to love this
Everything better to be frank from a role playing perspective but not the combat, and crafting non existent besides potion crafting and spell making(It's not anywhere as good as Morrowind's magic)

Skyrim is better with quests. Farming the soul stones to close the oblivion gates can be a real pain, a complete lackluster.

graphics ain't everything.

If you love Skyrim, you'll love this as well.

Can we please be honest and admit Skyrim is the better game by modern standards.. I love Oblivion too but come on, a person playing Skyrim and Oblivion for the first time is easily going to notice how the combat, crafting, NPC AI, dialogue, animations... everything is going to look worse in Oblivion to someone who doesn't have the nostalgia goggles on, even in the Remaster. The only thing that looks nice is the new engine and the graphics, but heck even the artstyle is arguably worse than Skyrim, although I still like it.

This is a great game by the time it came out, and it's still good today, but Skyrim is just more modern to a non TES gamer.

For roleplay purposes and immersion in the world I would easily say Skyrim is superior too. What world you prefer is another story. Although Oblivion has a better story than Skyrim.

By the way, my favorite TES game order is:

Morrowind > Skyrim with Mods > Oblivion > Skyrim Vanilla. So even though I think Skyrim is the better game, I played Oblivion when it came out long ago and prefer it over Vanilla Skyrim. When mods come out for this game it might get up there with Morrowind for me ngl, can't wait for that.

You have no idea how fun it is to play Unarmed in Oblivion compared to Skyrim. In Skyrim, going Unarmed isn't even a thing.

Being a more modern game doesn't make it a better one. QoL is nice and all, but that isn't what makes a game good. I love Skyrim, but it is not better than Oblivion based on its actual content, story, quests, etc.

It is if you play a khajiit, they do a ton of damage early. 22 base damage claws.
In general its better because its not dumbed down. The combat is simplistic. So is Skyrims, but its slightly better, even better with mods. Morrowind is even better as far as depth is concerned, but it just looks too old now.

Its only worth the money if you want the graphics.

You cannot even level up in Skyrim if you go unarmed.

I only played Oblivion 5 years between Morrowind and Skyrim. After I finished Skyrim, there already had been much better and more mods for Skyrim than Oblivion, so I never looked back.
Just waiting if there will be many mods for Oblivion, which will be better than for Skyrim. If not, I will stick to Skyrim.

This confuses me because playing Unarmed in Skyrim, even without mods, you can literally Suplex people and do WWE moves with death animations, was fun as heck. What does Oblivion have that Skyrim doesn't when it comes to Unarmed?

Not from punching no, but you have other skills, I was able to beat the game never using a weapon. IIRC my punches, or rather scratches were doing 76 damage. Not bad without a weapon or broken crafting skills.
