Make sure that the "extra" spell you have are not the 'use once a day' ones. If yes, then those are racial abilities.
Those usually pop up only after you leave the sewers. Once used you have to sleep to use them again.
I *think* everyone gets Clairvoyance and the small heal. Because those are used in tutorial.
Detect life shows the life signals very minimalist. Will higher forms of this spell show life signals more apparent?
There is also a “starlight” spell. I thought it will illuminate my surroundings when in dark areas but do not really notice any difference. Am I doing something wrong?
I am playing on steam deck with automatic lowest setting. This might impact some visual effects of spells that make them work less good?
From what I've seen Starlight is bugged in first person, but if you switch to 3rd it starts working normally. I got Gloves with it and they wouldn't work. When I switched to 3rd to see if it really didn't work it started.
Once you enter your class, and choose the schools of magic, some "basic" spells for each school of magic in your build, is added to your spellbook.
You still have to buy or craft advanced spells.
if your major skills are spells (alteration, illusion, restoration, mysticism etc) and the numbers are over 25, you get more spells at the start of your adventure.
after that, you need to read spell books, or buy from NPCs.
Idk if this helps, but the starlight and similar light spells seem not to affect me when in first person mode. If i switch to third person mode and swap back to first, i see the light effects.
