Sad I can't play the game...
I'm not very rich. Gaming is a privilege, I know. Still i want to wine a little. :emotionalcat:

Oblivion has been my childhood. As someone who plays games like Elden Ring without an issue - just an example - I wasn't expecting any issue playing OR.

I never got to start it. It always said I've got an issue with Directx12 and all that. It's all up to date however. I spent all night updating everything.

My GeForce is above 1070 Ti. I checked all other requirements as well. I simply cannot put my finger on why it is not working. I tried everything the discussion section and sites outside of Steam had to offer.

I simply do not know if the issue is on my end and if my PC is getting old. That is why I mentioned Elden Ring... or Lies of P and all that. It got great grafics and I can enjoy these games perfectly but Oblivion R - man... I'm just so sad.

I have no clue what their noodle code is asking of me or my computer. But since I am not rich I am unable to buy a whole new computer just to be able to play OR with grafics that look polished but not new. So far I never had issues with UnrealEngine5 either.

Sorry to everyone who faces the same issues and does not get to play the game reliving childhood. I'm just very sad and wanted to rant / vent.

When I saw this game release yesterday I was super emotional and surprised - I had no clue it will get a remaster.

So it was a big emotional HIGH and now it's a big LOW... :sweatcat:

Don't worry, you're not missing 'an epic adventure in a perfectly remastered old game.' The optimisation, even on high end PC's, is jank.

I have a 4090, i7-10700 and 40gigs of ram, and when I hit the outdoors I was getting like 25fps. Enabled GPU scheduling so I could use frame gen as a crutch and it won't even load. Gets stuck at a 1fps loading screen with 100% CPU use. :/

2 things:

First, what's your specs.

Secondly, if you're getting a crash report, share it.

you can play it via gamepass, its a good deal the gamepass. 18 for a month. should be doable.

Save your money for Switch 2. Nintendo will never steer you wrong.

It's literally the same game. But with better graphics.

Why do people care so much about remasters?

I sugest you try the cloud version of gamepass, you literally just need a decent internet connection, and it cost 16 euro/month.
Im getting the same error so I added -dx11 to tell the game to use DirectX11 and apparently these lame developers are only supporting DirectX12, Error is "Unable to launch with RHI DirectX 11 since the project is not configured to support it."

You can do a quick sanity check and post the exact version of your Nvidia Game Ready Driver and exact build and revision of your Windows OS.

There's like 100% chance yours are actually years out of date, in which case the automatic updates in both Windows and Nvidia GeForce Experience will not find the latest updates.
