You're 29 years too late to be complaining about "gender politics" in Elder Scrolls games.
Elder Scrolls has always been like this. Go look up some of the lore around Vivec and what's up with him.

It goes all the way back to Daggerfall with Lord Kilbar.

Argonians often change sex during their lives, this has been canon for a very long time.

Deetsan, CitySwimmer, and Mach-na in Oblivion.

You've been playing the wrong franchise if you're worried about gender politics. It has 100% always been a thing in Elder Scrolls games.

Absolutely nothing has changed regarding the franchise because they went with something other than "male" and "female" for character creation. It's baked into the franchise to begin with and has literally been there since the first game.

I don't think people get the concept of "role playing" very well either if you're worried about things like that. The entire point is that you can be anything you want, even if it isn't real. So even if you think there are only two real life genders, so what?

No one is stopping you from role playing as your male or female ideal.

You can be a cat person, a humanoid lizard, an elf, an orc, and you're worried because the game doesn't stick to just boys and girls?

You don't even have to be human, and that's the gripe?

“I’m not even the first member [of the House of Reveries] to change my gender. …Some, such as myself, changed through magical means. Others use mundane methods, such as wrapping their chests or changing their voice. It’s all a matter of preference…. [I’ve met many who share my experiences] Not just here, but across all of Summerset. It’s a personal matter to some, and not everyone is comfortable talking about it or educating others. But I’ve met many wonderful souls who’ve transitioned.” - Alchemy, ESO

You're super late to this party if this is what you want to complain about in an Elder Scrolls game, almost thirty years late in fact.

ES hasn't changed at all because they did this, it's not a recent cultural invasion in your political safe space. It's always been this way and if you're mad about this you just weren't paying attention. This is the wrong franchise to be whining about it in.

I want my male and female option slider. Say no to Type 1 and Type 2 body.

OP fundamentally does not understand the difference between a god being a fluid hermaphrodite (and indeed, even in a setting that includes magic to actually change your sex) and corporate "safe" eradication of all gendered concepts. The only reason anyone cares about defending the latter is the "own the right!" crowd, same mental illness as "own the libs" mentality, different side of the coin.
I forgot Morrowind had body type I and II instead of selecting male or female because Vivec was a hermaphrodite

Gender politics is new age gaslightning, all arguments for it are lies and copes. And besides, if it doesn't matter so much, then let people not participate. Restore male/female mod to nexus.
It's as simple as that. Or maybe it does matter afterall?

Oblivion had male and female option, body 1 and 2 is a retcon. Let people mod it out if they don't want it. No need for essays or ad hominems.

You can give me all the lore you want to justify it.
But if I had gone on Nexus 20 years ago, I wouldn't have had any problem finding and downloading a mod to set gender to male or female.

You guys usually respond with: "Why do you care so much?"

Perfect — then you tell me why Nexus cares about removing mods that reset gender to male or female, or mods that allow you to change a character from Black to white.

Freedom of expression and speech is a two-way street.
Why should I let it go when others don’t?!

Someone doesn’t know there are multiple reptile breeds that will change sex when it suits them aka why argonians would be able to do the same.

I didn't know people needed to call their body in a video game male or female to feel reassured about their own identity. Guess money should be spent on therapy rather than on video games, for some.
Should we tell them about the angry blue wearing Nords while ignoring the tall Elven trench coat wearing elves in its sequel?

Nexus doesn't care, the mod creators are the ones responsible. Give credit where it's due.

So why are complaining about issues with the Nexus here in a post that has nothing to do with mods? WTF does Steam have to do with it?

I'm not in favor of removing mods that don't do anything illegal, but that has nothing to do with the way character creation works in the game.

It's not a valid point regarding what people are complaining about that the Nexus is removing mods or banning people. That's them, and has nothing to do with this.

Those are entirely different people and a separate entity and issue. Go talk about that in one of the threads about what the Nexus did. It's not relevant at all here.

Ussually when nexus bans a mod, anyone that speaks of such gets banned.
People have an issue in the singleplayer game, a modder comes up fixes it, nexus mods interjects and stops it, so people will talk about the issue they have with the game in the game forums, it may not be "correct" but it's how people work.
