"Just change it back to male and female, it hurts noone" Spelling of "no one" aside, it is in fact leaving it as "type 1" and "type 2" that hurts no one. People who don't experience gender dysphoria (look it up if you don't know what it is, I'm not your mom) are not harmed at all by seeing the words "Type 1" next to a stereotypical male-presenting body, or "Type 2" next to a female-presenting body. You click the one you want, and move on. You're not harmed at all. But someone who suffers from gender dysphoria is harmed by seeing "Male" or "Female" titles, next to a body that they have, but they emotionally don't feel represents them.

This isn't a discussion on whether or not gender dysphoria is a mental illness or not. This is merely pointing out the 100% fact that if you have never suffered from feeling like titles and words don't affect or don't bother you ("ugh why does my work order me to put my pronouns in my email signature, I'm a MAN hur dur hur") then you are whining about something that doesn't affect you at all.

For people this does affect emotionally though, feeling represented, or in this case, merely having a gender title removed and replaced with something less harmful to their emotional well-being, is beneficial.

I'm a 100% cis-het dude and I completely support Type 1/Type 2 in the game. I am not harmed in the slightest by this inclusive act and I moved on with my life immediately without whining and complaining that it doesn't say "male" and "female anymore.

I suggest that every other cis-het person also just grow up and stop being a whiny little baby, mmkay?

We mattered to Concord, we mattered to Forspoken, we mattered to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, we mattered to Dustborn, to Redfall, to South of Midnight, to Assassin's Creed: Shadows, to Flintlock, to Veilguard, to Marathon, and of course Marvel Rivals is making billions because it gave us what we wanted.

So I'd say we matter quite a lot.

But sometimes a game is so good that we simply get over it because the game is good. For example Baldur's Gate 3. That game was super woke, but we liked it anyway. We groaned when we saw the woke elements, but we just got over them.

When a game is just average or just good but not super good, AND it's woke, that's where we close our wallets and people get fired.

Thing is...a mediocre game with hot women, for example, will be way more successful than a mediocre game that's woke.
