Constant crashes
Hello everyone. I really love the game, but it keeps crashing all the time. After I exited the sewers the problem started. I can´t play the game for more than 5 minutes, and I get crashes all the time.

The error I get is:
An Unreal process has crashed: UE-Oblivion Remastered

My Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 5500
16gb of ram
AMD Radeon RX 6700

I verified my files, the software is running in admin mode, all my drivers are up to date.

Thank you.

The issue isn't what you guys are saying, lower your shadows to low and world effects to off or low, and turn your post processing down to low. This will decrease crashing for many hours. Also lower draw distance to high.
I found the solution !

I had the same issue, 2 to 3 minutes after playing the game, it crashed when I was looting something or opened the inventory.

It`s simple but I just installed this mod:
https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/399?tab=description

Download the Engine.ini File and replace it in your Oblivion Remastered folder, which is located at

C:\Users\Anwender\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows
and
C:\Users\Anwender\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\WinGDK

After I replaced the .ini File I could play the game for 4 hour without any crashes.
I hope it works for you too :)

It looks like this happens when you open or close the UI Overlay (means: when you loot, when you open / close map, inventory, etc.). At least in my case. I can run for hours and it's fine but then after few times, like 2-4, closing and openign the overlays it crashes. :)

I was trying to figure out what I was doing to tank my framerate to a halt basically, and it was either entering/leaving the game menu or the looting UI, anything that takes over the actual foreground image. I hope this gets fixed since it's game breaking for me. Using an i7 11700 and RX 9070.

How can you guys be constantly crashing when you spent so much on hardware? Didn't that expensive hardware guarantee a good experience? :steamhappy:

Double check your list is in order. Nexus/Vortex changes it to alphabetical and Oblivion is way down the list. This resolved a launch issue for me. Hope that helps some ppl.

Here are my basic system specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 7600
AMD Radeon RX 7600 8GB GDDR6 -Updated drivers
16 GB DDR5
WD SN3000 1TB SSD
Win 11 Fresh install -Updated drivers

Played for an hour or so before the first crash. Then in the next 1.5 hours crashed about 4 more times same errors. I bought the game and the DLC. Played it on lower GFX settings just a step below the req after first crash, did not help. I also activated the show VRAM USAGE in game and stays at 0/0.

Same but im on a 7900XT. I suspect its because we're all team AMD and UE5 is typically TERRIBLY optimized for AMD.

The in game VRAM usage counter is not working. Disable Resizable Bar in your bios. That was the solution for me.

I only have crashes if i use DLSS4, if i'm using the default DLSS3 of the game i don't have these issues.

Had the same crash now on my 3080 - points to driver error in event viewer as well. Probably nvidias ♥♥♥♥♥♥ drivers as of late contributing as well as memory leaks as posted above. Only game its happened on

It says it's for GPUs up to 6GB, but even one person with a 16GB GPU says their crashes were fixed with it.
I used the 6GB config even tho I have 8GB card. Been playing for over an hour and so far so good no crashing. There are noticeable differences in the environment details and foliage is really bad.. but I can play thanks.

With 7950X3D and 9070XT, disabling frame generation stopped all my crashes from changing zones for anyone having this issue.
Fix your Load Order...make sure ESM is at the top in the Text file...happened to me when I loaded some mods
