Yes, another Body Type 1/2 post but it's actually reasonable...
Considering the game is a "remaster", it would've been reasonable to not change that part of the game. I can see the game as-is being as close to a faithful remake while bringing it up to more modern software (UE5 is a joke), improved graphics (Looks nice, but my PC doesn't like it), and is an overall (almost) faithful remake of an all-time classic.

The only problem being the community blowing it out of proportion about the gender thing being replaced with body types. Personally I see nothing wrong with it other than slightly deviating from the original game where it clearly defines what's male or female. 'Course I expect a mod to come along and fix that as the modding community is the backbone of any game Bethesta makes. Any little issue or quirk that someone doesn't like, there will likely be a mod to fix it quite quickly.

Now...yes I don't own the game, but I plan on snagging it later on once the performance issues get ironed out over time (or at least reduced to a minimum). I'm not on board with the rest of these trolls and rage baiters as that's just a waste of time. I'm just dropping a more common sense post instead of acting like a snowflake. It has its ups and downs, but I see nothing wrong with it myself.

The price of the game is definitely the biggest problem. I dont like the Body Type 1/2 thing because they dropped the effect Gender had on stats, but its a pretty minor thing.

But back when Skyrim Enhanced Edition came out, Bethesda granted people a copy if they had Skyrim and all the DLC already, totally for free. Well, I own Oblivion and all its DLC, and I don't even get a discount on the remaster? That kinda sucks, considering the expectation the company already set.

i just want muscular and fat options, bring in body type 3 and 4!

Game also seems to run poorly.
And it seems like female NPCs got uglified, even by Oblivion's graphical standards, and gotta push the skin shaders on Redguards and whoever I guess too.

Changes that aren't part of remastering.
For real though, the majority of discussions so far are about body type or its too expensive, rather than real discussions about the game itself. I'm neutral on the topic itself, I see good and bad on both sides of it, but I don't really care as it doesn't apply to me. I'm a dude and made a "female/body type 2" whatever people want to call it I just wanted to play as a female for once since I usually don't in rpgs. I'm just happy we have this to experience Oblivion again after all these years.

I'm really out here for performance issues with crashes occurring every 1 hour or so and then taking 3-5 tries to play before it crashes again. Seems myself and others with powerful hardware have crashing issues whereas my buddy who I have been playing alongside hasn't had a single crash running below recommend specs on a 1080! I've got a 4090 24gb vram and an i9 14900 with 64gb ram. The game runs fine at 4k 120fps but just keeps crashing occasionally, would appreciate any help!

I want a 5th option where you can be an attack helicopter.
Seems to me the need to change something as basic as male and female is blowing stuff out of proportion.

I was about to say, I had all DLCs for oblivion and the rest of the package and I didn't get the remaster for free, but oh well, seems about right. At least I did get skyrim enhanced for free.

Kinda figured as much, but at least it's not cheaply done like 3 GTA Remakes they done a few years back.

I'm personally not giving an inch anymore. You push this kind of crap, you ain't getting my money.

Some games are like that, community sees anything that remotely looks like woke stuff or politics, they jump on it and rant about it. I don't see the reason why it'd be worth that much effort. Elden ring has the same body type 1/2 thing, and yet no one complained about it since it carries over the entire soulborne series. For them, the body type 1/2 system is just normal to their community and they don't even bat an eye about it. Rightfully so as it's not worth complaining about.
