You don't. No dual wield in Oblivion.

The original Oblivion doesn’t have dual wield. If I’m not mistaken, dual wield was not a thing in The Elder Scrolls until Skyrim.

As a wise mustachioed man once said: "That's the neat thing, you don't."

Well yes and no for example in Daggerfall you could equip two different one handed weapon at a time but only wield one. It was useful if you had an enchantment you liked but didn't want to use it to say beat down a door. I am not sure if Morrowind had that but Oblivion for sure didn't in its original release. I would of liked to see it included but I guess they stuck with the original method.
You'll have to wait for Skyblivion if you want dual wielding.

I didn't even know that game had been released. So many games to keep track of, I swear.

Technically speaking, there IS a way to dualwield in this game.

Unequip your weapons. No seriously, fighing with Unarmed attacks used to be a joke in the OG Oblivion, dealing near pitiful damage, but the Unarmed skill has been completely overhauled and now your fists can actually do some pretty impressive damage as you level up the skill, and you do use both fists when attacking, unleashing a barrage of attacks from both sides on your foe.

So there, you want to use two weapons at once? Unleash the fists of fury.

I wonder if there are any actual fist weapons you can equip? I have used unarmed with my mage but in general he doesn't melee much. A monk type build could be fun although I would like kicks to be included in the rotation.

What I am actually wondering, is if equipping better quality heavy gauntlets affects the damage of your fists, as it did in Skyrim.

I will need to test that out, but gauging damage is difficult, given that there's no numerical value to your attacks. So proper testing would be difficult to arrange.

Do beast's get claw attacks or was that a mod for OG?
was it only the Khajit that has/had that?

That was a thing in Skyrim, but not in the OG oblivion.

I would have to test out a Khajit or Argonian character to test it out on this remake.
