[QUEST] GO FISH - can't find the damn fishes

so i am doing the go fish quest ( you are supposed to kill 12 special fishes in special lake ) the problem is I spent last 20 minutes swinming trough that lake ( yes I am at the right location ) but so far I found only 1 slaughterfish... IN THE ENTIRE LAKE ( well and 2 mudcrabs )

Make sure it's set as your active quest and follow the green arrow. Beware that you may hit a glitch where the fish is stuck in the ground.

I tried resting to see if there is any spawn issues after 48 hours they finally spawned... weird...

Ok so i had this issue too. Basically there are 2 things to note:
!. The fish often get stuck on the sides of the lake, near or even on the land.
When they do this , check around the nearest coastline. If the fish is on land it will be flapping about and jumping up and down. But most likely, it is simple in a shallow bit off water, stuck or semi stuck on the terrain.
If you need more help, use the detect life spell
2. When the fish arent bugged out like this, you can see some bubbles on the surface of the water where the fish is located, swimming around. Also note, that when you kill a fish, they dont float to the surface but instead sink to the bottom of the lake, which can make the difficult to find once they are dead.


Good luck, once i figured this out, it only took about 10 minutes to find and kill them all

Use to be the green arrow pointed to the next slaughter fish to slaughter. I remember in the OG seeing the game spawn in the next one and one being placed on a rock, flapping around in a panic. Why did they had to change this of all things?!?

i have more then enough scales to hand in. but can't hand them in

I had to ignore the quest marker and just walk around the edge of the lake. All the fish seemed to spawn near the shallow parts of the lake. Sometimes I could see the bubbles, sometimes not. Sometimes the damn fish even jumped up out of the water and started flopping on the land. No real rhyme or reason, but once I gave up on the quest marker and stopped wasting time diving it didn't take very long.

Either go to sleep ( they might respawn ) or try the deeper area behind the bridge

The guest is bugged I guess. I ran around the Lake and found 2 fish.

I found six fish until the green arrow pointed to a location below the map - whoops!

I killed a fish in the middle of the lake and i can't find the body to loot it. I searched the bottom of the lake for half an hour and didn't see it anywhere.

Yeah they sometimes drop under the textures

I'm on Xbox, and I have the same issue unfortunately. I have more than enough too, but it still shows the green arrow for the next spawn location. And, the NPC does not acknowledge I have 12 scales.

From what I know is I have 16 scales and cannot finish the quest and apparently was bugged in OG game. But do you still get the ring if you pickpocket him?

This is the least fun quest I've ever done. I spent 3 hours running around that stupid lake. I'm stuck with 6 scales and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fish don't respawn. I have slept a few times and nothing. Who thought this stupid quest would be fun?
