Just Lost my 4 Hour Save

I died by a trap that I did not see that instantly killed me and for some reason the game did not want to load my most recent save, even though it was listed in the load game menu.
Then i exited into the main menu to try from there but the game just froze and then I had to force it to close.

That apparently cause steam or the game to completely delete all of my save data and settings. 4 hours lost.

This saddens me greatly.

I guess, it had something to do with the crashing, since it seemed to not store any saves, shaders nor settings after the crash.

Check your Windows Security Center. There should be a notification, you need to open it and allow whatever it asks for.

So did you have your save back or did you had to restart? I just had the same issue but after allowing access in windows defender the save game folder just shows the default files and none of my savegames were there.
