Lockpicking
Anyone having problems with the lockpicking? I'm missing all the time and I didn't have problems in the first version, is it because FPS difference or input lag?

Works fine for me. Probably just have to get use to it again.

I'm with you, something is off - I used to be a pro at the lockpipcking, now i'm breaking 20 picks on a single easy lock, reloading, and breaking another 20.

I always used audio cue when to click. The sounds are different now. But, I believe the audio cue is still there, just need to ID. That said, I found when the tumbler reaches the top of the cylinder, when moving slowly, is when to click. I will need to get accustomed too.

Yeah I find it easier than the the original lol!
So they did not learn that people do not like the lockpick minigame.

Typical Bethesda, never learning.

I can't hear an audio queue now so it feels awkward

Tap the pins, you'll notice they more slower at some points, when it moves slower is when you set it when it goes up, if you try it everytime it goes up you'll be breaking pins like a champion.

Yes; and its driving me a bit bonkers that people are saying it hasn't changed-- its clearly the same system but theres a delay for some of us (maybe not everyone?) or some sort of hidden RNG force breaking lockpicks.

Just in the tutorial dungeon it's an "average" 3 tumbler lock-- even the slower dropping tumbler will suspiciously break the pick when done seemingly perfectly.

Left the tutorial dungeon with only 2 lockpicks due to not thinking to quick save before every chest. Kind of irritated.

I've failed miserably on a medium lock in the tutorial cave.
Still got it open, but wasted a LOT of lockpicks.

Ah, that lock picking mini game was never the best one. Hence why they took over the one from Fallout in Skyrim. ^^

its just crap in general, there is a reason every game with lock picking copied fallout 3 :cozybethesda: and not elder scrolls. Even skyrim copied fallout ffs, it was and still is that terrible.

I don't rely on the animation. I wait to hear the "click" noise and then press the lock button(space bar).

I had problems the first chest where it teaches you. Just cause it's been so long. Just pop it up a few times so you can hear the proper noise then it all makes sense again. There's a pattern to each piece too.

So you don't even need sounds. Just turn the lock a few times and work out how many times it "stays" in place longer than the others. Then you work out the pattern and that seemed to help me.
I found the solution, rush the skeleton key quest and ♥♥♥♥ this minigame.
