Is there ANY way to import old saves into the remaster?

Honestly, I don't feel like redoing the main quests and expansions again (especially Shivering Isles which was distasteful). I still bought the remaster but then was shocked that there was no way to import my old character and continue adventuring where I left off. Considering all the research that has gone into the files since the original came out, is there ANY way that someone might make a tool to somehow transfer your save/character into the new game?

Say what you will about the endless Skyrim remakes, but those allowed old saves to be carried over from the original.

modders are saying the backend is literally the same, so, if you drag the savefile to the correct spot, there's a chance it'll work.

in any case, modders will probably figure it out eventually, given time

This is genuinely a bizarre expectation. I have no doubt that importing saves will eventually be possible with mods, but such a thing has never been common for remasters/remakes.
