Why everything looks so greyish and washed out?

The original feels much more alive, vibrant and overall, looks much better to me. I hate the ugly fog everywhere in the remastered version. I'll never understand why they make everything looks so washed out and grey. Isn't Cyrodiil supposed to look lush and beautiful?

I don't agree about it being ugly, but good lord the fog is abysmal. It's everywhere, dungeons are filled with it and everything more than 30 feet from you looks like it's at the peak of the world's tallest mountain. AAA studios feel the need to tack on as many postprocessing effects as possible to trick rubes into thinking it's c i n e m a t i c.
