Linux Mouse not working
Hey guys,

Just downloaded the game, shaders compiled fine, but when I get to the part where you need to accept the license, it becomes evident that the mouse isn't working. I can see the oblivion mouse attempt to load in, but when I move my mouse it just defaults to my normal system mouse and it seems like the game just isn't capturing any of my mouse input.

I'm running Arch linux on hyprland, tried forcing fullscreen, setting the GDK_BACKEND to X11 swapping to different proton runtimes, its a little annoying because it seems I cannot access the settings until I get past the license screen...

Go into the game properties under compatibility and check the box to force a version of proton. Choose experimental. Fixed it here in i3wm.

I also had this issue. I tried a bunch of different Proton versions and the issue was the game not running in Windowed. Windowless and Fullscreen cause this issue.

You can bypass the license acceptance with a controller - or at least I could no problem with a Dualshock 4. Then you can navigate with just keyboard (and or use your controller) to make the settings change from the main menu.

My setup:
- Arch Linux
- Hyprland
- Nvidia 3080
- intel CPU

I used proton experimental when it worked, but I don't think that was the key issue.

I haven't touched a single setting in the game. Running on whatever defaults it gave me, which appears to be "Borderless" 1920x1080. The only change I made that fixed the lack of mouse inputs was changing the proton version. I see now there's a hotfix version of proton which seems to work also. FWIW I'm on dual displays with i3wm and it seems that the mouse will work correctly on one display but not the other. Perhaps it's simply down to making sure you're using your primary display (or vice versa if you already are).

I did get it working using a controller lol, but what launch settings force windowed?

To anyone else having similar issues, these steps resolved it for me, i;m not sure which specific bit worked but its working now.

1. Navigate to the following directory

<home>/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2623190/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Oblivion Remastered/Saved

2. Create the directory

Config/Windows

3. Create the empty following file

GameUserSettings.ini

4. add in

FullscreenMode=2

5. start the game

6. using your window managers hotkeys/shortcuts, set the game window to floating/windowed and move it around

I was then able to use my mouse cursor on the EULA and get into the game settings.
