I'll defend the system. It's a really cool variation on lockpicking that does get easy once your used to it. You have to wait and time the slow pin animation. It has worked just fine for me all day doing a thief setup opening very hard locks. I strongly prefer it to the guesswork of the skyrim/fallout variation.
That said, it's a Bethesda game. It really wouldn't shock me if it's being buggy for some people lol.
Something is definitely off.
Or maybe that's just 19 years of experience?
