Is this the usual buggy bethesda mess or is it better this time around? How is performance?
Let me know how your experience has been so far

Its great so far, I had a single crash in over 2h of playtime, performance is decent enough and the game feels true to the original

Other than some minor bugs like hair and texture flashing, its been pretty smooth. Only 120min in but loving it so far
It's less jank from what I've seen.

That's already too much. I got refunded for this.
Sounds like it has a lot of issues right now. Which is to be expected from Bethesda. I doubt many people have even got to other crashes that will occur in specific areas of the game.

I mean, it is an Unreal 5 game so bear that in mind, it did crash to desktop and my first weapon I found got deleted out of my inventory but otherwise it actually seems really good.

I’m having issues where I can’t progress through main missions because npcs are bugging out
This game is just Oblivion and then the 3rd party studio the development was outsourced to, made a graphical and audio overhaul with the UE.
It is not a remake... it is a remaster.
honestly its much better than i was expecting being Bethesda. one thing they need to fix asap though is the occasional crashes when doing alchemy it seams certain combinations cause a crash so when your making potions and the game crashes try to remember what you mixed as it will keep happening
Bit of both: not using their own engine, so less Bethesda engine jank, but also Bethesda using Unreal Engine, so new engine jank.
I had an issue where it wouldn't load after leaving a dungeon. Gave it about 5 minutes, but I had to close the game and restart. It restarted me back at the beginning of the dungeon. Other than that it's just a massive resource hog for seemingly no real reason.

Afaik it's the Bethesda engine that still uses the logic parts of the game, but wrapped in UE5 that handles the rest (graphics etc).
Sounds to me like this means all the quirks and wonky elements will still be there :)
