Did they just cuck skyoblivion?
The timing for this one is just weird man, skyoblivion was nearly finished, and ready to release later this year.

Have they (skyoblivion team) already responded?

Honestly Skyblivion will be a completely different experience. Still well worth the wait, assuming Bethesda's lawyers don't shut it down.

We already knew a remake was on its way since court documents showed it’s been in the works. I believe the team already said something about it a while ago. I can’t wait for it! I’m excited to see how much better a team of passionate gamers can do compared to a soulless game development company that’s filled with activists rather than actual developers.

Uh huh. Go listen to your Korn album.

This remaster was created by Virtuos who uses AI to program his games, while accelerating the production time enormously.
Did Bethesda order this remaster to thwart the upcoming release of Skyblivion? Yes, Bethesda wasn't going to say no to a mountain of money.
Now imagine what ES6 will be like seeing the direction Bethesda took from Skyrim, Starfield, DEI ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and now the massive use of AI. The future worst fiasco of the Elders Scrolls license, which will still sell very well because modern players are cattle without free will or cognitive ability.

In regards to timing I would go with the following:

1. JD Vance visits the Pope
2. The Pope leaves our world 12 h later
3. Two days later Oblivion Remastered is released

Other facts:
- During the latest Pope's reign not a single Elder Scrolls game was released
- Now I am starting to hear a lot of talk about Elder Scrolls 6 Release in the near future

yes, skyblivion team is excited for this release. They released a great statement last week when the rumor mill heated up.

This looks better than anything Skyrim or any other game based on their stupid engine can do. This can play on a console. Skyblivion cannot. This updates some mechanics, like adding a sprint, but doesn't change the base game. Skyblivion changes Oblivion into Skyrim. We all know how different those mechanics are. And at the end of the day, Skyblivion is going to be a free mod. Does it really matter?
that is the only reason why this cash grab was made. bcuz they know modders will do a better job than any business suit can. so they told the modern audience team that they need pull a profit before Skyblivion will be released. cuz they know Skyblivion will be much better than this remaster and Skyblivion will not have 2025 politics forced down our throats

well, the guy asked, in a sense, what is being said about it, not what you believe lol

I personally never held my breath for the "Sky"/"Rim" expansion projects, the original first was Morroblivion which has never seen the light of day, not even a small demo release. The people behind all TES "expansion" mods is more or less the same, and it has been 17 years since they started the project, so the chances of it ever being finished, in my book, are null...

Bugthesda might have released this thing, but they switched into UE and outsourced it to a suspicious 3rd party developer, the likelyhood of this working properly are slim to none, so the best we can possibly get still is the mod. The reason why I know this remaster will take forever to work properly's due to the simple fact that the old-school modding community won't be able to fix it themselves, which has been a staple for 99% of Bugthesda releases...

I'd say: support and cheer for Skyoblivion and hope that Bugthesda don't shut it off... Mind that anyone still injecting money into Bugthesda at this point is being silly, until they get rid of Toad the Howard, that company won't improve on absolutely anything...

100% they definitely only started to make a remaster once they caught wind of skyblivion and released it ASAP so they can cut in on the profit. dosent matter. anyone whos interested in either are going to get both to compare and if i had to put money on it where going to get a million videos if side by side comparison videos later.

id gladly pay just as much for both versions.

Skyblivion was announced just after Skyrim was released. You honestly believe they didn't know it was in progress?

Pretty sure the devs of Skyblivion have permission from Bethesda to do it. Given Oblivion Remake will probably take a while for mods to work, I assume Skyblivion will be a lot more user friendly to mods in general. Also a much less demanding game.

Can we please stop confusing mods as official titles? That’s literally all Skyblivion is. Like it or not, modders are not entitled to the same rights and credit as game developers. I thought you’d figure that out by now.
