Edited: (SOLVED) No cloud saves?
I was playing on my desktop but decided to move over to my laptop. When I exited the game it states cloud syncing but when I start the game on my laptop it doesn't download the save file. Both my desktop and laptop have cloud saving enabled (in Steam settings and in the games property settings).

Edit and temp fix until Bethesda actually addresses this:

Found the issue. The cloud saving is working but it's using OneDrive.

The game looks for saves in;

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames

But the cloud save goes into;

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames

You will need to MANUALLY copy and paste from the OneDrive folder into the games save folder.

I hope this helps.

Unfortunately this isn't working for everyone. Save files are in both OneDrive and local drive.

The game just isn't seeing them.

Found a solution that worked for me! Go in to windows security - scroll down to "protection history" Click on the down arrow next to "protected folder access blocked" and click on "actions" then "allow on device" - no more problems (for me at least)

I found the issue for me to be that it was Windows Ransomware protection. Either disable that setting, or add the game as an approved app and it worked for me. :praisesun:

This does not work either.

Wow that's a bad issue.
I am curious whether it is an issue for those who uninstalled one drive initially.
yes it is ive never had onedrive on my machine and still doesnt transfer saves

Same issue here, it's extremely frustrating as being able to play on Deck was part of the reason I bought it.

still not working for me. Forced to play and know that the character I made will be forgotten.

Ok, this worked for me. The game is actually saving the settings now, however, the game can't find the saved game yet...

This fixed it for me, kinda crazy oversight. Going to report this to them and hopefully they'll get a quick patch out.

Same, the issues seems to come from the fact that I made "MyDocument" point to my F: drive.

This is what I noticed :

My pc saves are located in :
C:\Users\fdpsan\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames

But the one from the deck (synced) are in :
F:\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames

I'm pretty sure the issue is coming from the fact they use

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames to locate the save but Documents is not necessarily at this place.

A quick and dirty fix would be to symlink F:\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames to C:\Users\fdpsan\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames, be sure to backup the saves first.

edit : I confirm that deleting the folder in C: and doing

cd C:\Users\fdpsan\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\

then

mklink /d .\SaveGames "F:\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\SaveGames"

did the trick

my og save from when the game dropped is only usable on my desktop. on my laptop i had to make an entirely diff save and that save cant be accessed anywhere but my laptop and steam deck lol
trunks7287 22 kwietnia o 19:53
that fix didn't work for me. glad i didn't get too far. i manually copied the save from my laptop (which I had to uninstall because the game literally was too laggy to run) to my PC and nothing.
To add to OP solution you can use a application called SymLinkCreator and make a symlink to the saves folder from the cloud to the local saves folder and it should be automatic. (still need to test it on both my systems)

I don't use this malevolent thing called one drive, yet I also have save cloud issues. Blast you Badthesda and microschlong.

game crashes
Colonel_30 22 kwietnia o 23:10
the problem not with onedrive, the game itself save the data on drive C: Users/YOUR NAME/Document and if you move your default document folder to drive D then the cloud save will no longer work since the cloud saves to drive D but the game saves to drive C.

And steam will act as if you never save your data so the steam cloud storage will display at 0MB, that's why if you check your Documents/My Games/Oblivion Remastered on drive D there will be no save data.
