Can't enable DLSS frame gen on a 4090?
Anyone know why this is greyed out for me? If I switch to FSR I can enable the FSR FG, but not with DLSS.

DLSS and frame gen are a blight on gaming.

Same issue but on a 4070, anyone found a reason/fix?

No they aren't. Do devs need to work harder to optimize their games? Yes, of course. But for people with lower end machines, it's a godsend and will make a game playable at a reasonable quality level.

Make sure you have HAGS enabled on Windows settings. It's required for DLSS

Same issue with 4070 on Arch Linux
Same issue here, even DRS overrides are not working, VERY strange indeed.

Wonder if the game has a specific check for HAGS on the Registry? It's been forever so I don't remember how it works, but if there's a way to insert a registry key in the Proton/wine config. try adding this:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers] "HwSchMode"=dword:00000002

I thought this was a smart idea, so I imported the key, and my FG was still greyed out. Someone else should definitely try, just to make sure I didn't do something wrong

adding to the same pile, dlss frame greyed out:

fedora 42
proton-hotfix
4070 with driver version: 570.133.07

Lumen Hardware RT is enabled.

I have it enabled with my 4090 and I'm using 560.94 that Windows update installed for me after I DDU'd the trash they just released that was causing black screens. Works fine.

The Devs for the most part never will properly optimize now though, they will consider DLSS and Fake Frame support the optimization pass, because they are companies, and companies want to make money, and proper optimization takes time which equals money. It’s a plague and the broad adoption of Devs already shows where the trend is going. We have games releasing with Upscaling and Fake frames baked right into the system Requirements and soon enough people with weaker hardware will be in the exact same situation as before only now we will all have inferior visuals and responsiveness.
