People don't seem to understand this will have NO MOD SUPPORT.. It's on Unreal 5. Warning to those getting it expecting skyrim level mods in a few years.
Edit:

This post has gotten out of hand. It's just to warn those who don't understand how gaming works, scripts, engines, etc. that full fledged Skyrim level modding might not ever be possible and is still very much up in the air, and why.

yes I know the argument "but but Skyrim, and oblivion, and fallout didn't get day 1 modding either!" Not the point, the point is the toolkit was always going to come and modding was supported. Bethesda said they are not supporting modding, so we may never get the toolkit required to make mods that most people expect with Bethesda games.

-----------------

Okay its come to my attention apparently Creation Engine is "under the hood" but the Unreal Engine 5 is controlling the graphics? Honestly never seen or heard of anything like this before in its entirety where two game engines are working on the same game, so excuse my ignorance on that.

It seems some simple mods from original Oblivion may work in remastered since the files/folders are setup literally the same, and seem to be just copy pasted over.

This doesn't entirely mean, that modding on the same level will be possible though.. Bethesda said 'No Mod Support" Meaning they most likely will NOT release the tool kit allowing for unlimited modding potential like with other Bethesda games.

No Mod Support doesn't mean it won't and can't have modding.. I'm tired of people arguing that out of ignorance then I'm saying wrong out of cope just because there are some texture mods as if I said that wasn't possible...

Witcher 3 doesn't have mod support, yet it has mods. It simply means that when bethesda says "NO mod support" It means they are NOT going to release a Creation Engine/Edit Tool for modders to use most likely. Meaning the mods will be very limited.. You can have ReShade mods, simple ini tweak mods, maybe some stat change mods, and texture mods etc.. MAYBE modders can use the original oblivion engine to mod, then copy/paste over in a janky way if everything is setup the same, but that's about it.

Bethesda said themselves. NO MOD SUPPORT.. so don't expect the Tool kit required to make unlimited open ended mods possible.

Could modders maybe do some jank conversion from the original Oblivion Creation Kit, then copy paste the changes over? Maybe, but nobody can promise, or confirm that is possible or to what extent, and keep in mind we don't know Script extender will ever be available for the game either, which is required for a vast amount of original Oblivion mods.

----------------------------

The only reason modders can do what they do in previous Bethesda games is because of the Creation Engine.. It's very unique to Bethesda games, and ONLY with that can modders do what they do with other Bethesda games.

So keep that in mind with this game. The modding scene might not ever reach the capability of previous Bethesda games.

did you play any previous bethesda games mate? The mod scene is their lifeline, their blood and their oxygen. The modding community is the reason skyrim still has so many players.

The amount of downloads, and mods on Skyrim, Fallout, etc. kinda prove it is actually a massive deal and what keeps Bethesda afloat. Even the mods on consoles are huge.

You're wrong. Any mods that worked for oblivion without script extender will work here and has been tested by nexus modders already. It's running on the old engine with UE5 on top. Why spread misinformation?

Someone was able to modify the remaster using the original Oblivion's construction set
This proves modding is completely possible

damn ninja'd lol
Wasn't it confirmed that the Creation Engine is still being used here as the base and Unreal Engine for the visuals. I'm wondering, and I could be wrong, if that means mods can still be worked in.

So I can't mod in naked women with enormous uh assets, or dress them up in stripper outfits? I'm so disappointed.

And Morrowind and Oblivion. Damn, but they had some great mods going...! Incredible stuff I've never seen the likes of in any non-Bethesda game. Seeing this game, here, makes me want to install--my original Morrowind and Oblivion. For. The. Mods.

They explained that only the rendering is in UE5. The main engine is still CreationEngine, we should still be able to create and install mods for it.

I understand, and I don't care.

You're radiating MXR energy here, mate. Tone it down before you give us MXRadiation poisoning!

Unreal Engine 5 games are incredibly easy to mod when the dev kit is released. It gives you access to essentially the entire game so you can add anything you want.

We'll have to see if they release an dev kit. But my actual concern isn't the unreal engine part (That's easy) it's the weird mix match which still includes the original game engine running under the hood. THAT scares me.

Is there a place I can see confirmation of this? If so I'll delete this thread and be happily proven wrong. You're getting me unnecessarily excited with this potential.
