Ray tracing?
Is there any forced RT? Or will my ancient GOAT 1080 Ti run this at a low but stable framerate?

- Go to: Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows
- Open Engine.ini and add
[SystemSettings]
r.RayTracing=False

If you want better audio and performance add[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.UseLegacyMaintainYFOVViewMatrix=1

[AUDIO]
bEnableBinauralRendering=True
bEnableHRTF=True[/script/akaudio.aksettings]
bEnableMultiCoreRendering=True[/script/engine.audiosettings]
au.EnableBinauralAudioForAllSpatialSounds=1
au.DisableBinauralSpatialization=0
bAllowCenterChannel3DPanning=True
bEnableBinauralRendering=True
au.AllowAudioSpatialization=1
au.EnableSoundOcclusion=1
au.SpatializationMethod=2
bEnableHRTF=True

[SystemSettings]
r.psowarmup.warmupmaterials=0
r.RayTracing=False

[Engine.InputSettings]
RawMouseInputEnabled=1
bDisableMouseAcceleration=True
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False
bViewAccelerationEnabled=False

Holy crap that worked so incredibly well. Why is that not just an option in the game if its that simple ?

What are you talking about? No game has forced ray tracing,

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Star Wars Outlaws

none of those games have 'forced ray tracing' because not all GPUS support the hardware required to run ray tracing. What loop are you talking about?

That is exactly what I'm talking about. In some games you can turn RT on or off. In those games, RT is on as the default and if you have old hardware, it won't run the game at all.

Except the past 6 years has had GPUs capable of ray tracing.

You really are out of the loop mate. This hardware has been here for a while, Raytracing capable cards are standard.

That's not to say forced ray tracing is a good thing, performance impact being what it is, but it is becoming a thing and with industry trends being what they are, it'll be more and more prevalent to just use raytracing for things, especially if more devs get creative with it's implementation like Id is doing.

Lots of games where i won't be playing at 1440p/120fps for years after launch due to the capable hardware not existing yet, but hey, who cares anymore about standard performance and quality?

Kinda funny how people would rather leave a clown that try to argue against objective facts and common trends.

That's the point, the minimum requirements for those games are the RTX 2060, they will not even launch on non-RTX cards as the games use ray traced GI.
The game uses lumen, which is UE5's version of ray tracing for lighting/shadows etc. Can you turn it off/down? To an extent.

Even 5090 is sweating below my monitors 144hz refresh rate. Only 120 fps with 4k all ultra, raytracing on, dlss on and frame generation. Game looks and runs pretty bad. Especially if you compare it to KCD2 for example. UE5 is just not so great...

They launch just fine on the GTX series. Wut?

I'm an idiot, I didn't see the minimum requirement is 1070 Ti. For some reason I read 2070 Ti, which doesn't even exist 😅. I'm guessing you can turn off lumen?

LOL
Indiana Jones dont run on non RTX GPUs because these dont properly support RT, that game have have RT enabled on all settings.
Dont know about Star Wars, dont care about that game.
Doom Dark Age will also have RT enable on all settings, so also, forced RT.
I am not sure you have a clue what you talking about.

It does and it's UE5, just skip it, UE5 is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

What are you talking about? SW Outlaws has a software fallback for cards that don't support hardware RT, but Indiana Jones and the new DOOM game just straight up don't run on non-RT enabled cards.
Minimum requirements is a GTX 1060, so I guess you're fine.
