Seeing this on startup, anyone manage to solve this? Followed some generic UE5 crash advice and restored global nvidia settings, updated drivers, deleted the steam shader cache for this game. No luck yet.

Having the same issue and haven't found a solution yet, I'm assuming it's an nvidia issue but none of the generic UE fixes are working

make sure your bios is up to date

no, no, no. Not a bios problem. UE 5 problem. GTFO with gaslighting people. Everyone who has experience with UE 5 knows how $hite it is

What cpu you guys running? I had to RMA my 13900k because games were doing this.
I used to get very rare, random errors like that (usually an access violation), only in certain games. Ended up having to increase the voltage on something in BIOS. Can't remember exactly what. Anyway it could be a hardware problem, don't rule it out. Some games / engines put more demand on the hardware and that's when things like voltage issues crop up.

Ahh, never change UE5...not that I expected you to.

I have a 14700k. It was unstable and I had it RMA'd. Old CPU would fail OCCT stability in ~10 seconds. I updated BIOS before receiving new CPU. New CPU is fine in OCCT Stability.

I have tried reducing ratio to 51X and disabling boost, XMP, TVB, etc. Still crashes on launch. On the first launch it tried to compile shaders and died around 10%. Ever since, it crashes on open with this error.

Hi all, you have probably seen some other threads recommending to delete "sl.pcl.dll" - I should have mentioned that I tried that and it didn't work.

HOWEVER - I YOLO'd and deleted all "sl_..." files and am now running the game.

In Windows this was in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\nvidia\DLSS\Streamline\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64

Right click your game in library > Manage >Browse game files.

Navigate through Engine > Plugins > Marketplace > nvidia > DLSS > Strealine > Binaries > ThirdParty > Win64

Delete/move every file starting with "sl"

I am leaving these files in my recycle bin for now. I will update later when I figure out which one actually fixed the problem... but for now you'll have to forgive me as I enjoy my way through the sewers and on to Vilverin. Hope this helps others!

(this should probably go without saying but I doubt DLSS will work in this state. I haven't tried but just FYI)
Dont know if that helps you guys. But the newest Nvidia driver is pretty buggy. Had issues in other games as well until I went back to 572.83

I had the Ultimate Engine Tweaks mod activated from Nexusmods and got the same error. When I disabled it and verified the Steam files for Oblivion, it fixed 1 file. After that it ran. Enabled the mod again, crashed again. Verified the file, one broken. After that it ran.

Your games shouldn't be installed in Program Files if they use hardware accelerated routines.

Ideally no game should be installed there, no clue why STEAM defaults there and does not give a warning about it. But hey.
