Fog Removal?
Has anyone figured out a way to remove all this fog? I don't think the developers have ever stepped foot out of the city; everything isn't foggy in the outdoors in real life, why should it be in the game?

Seconded, jesus this is awful as soon as you step outside of the sewers.
Its probaobly just the weather condition you are currently in? It was perfectly clear when I exited, no fog.
You can remove it with a console command, but that disables achievements :\
Anyone wondering what the command is, if you DO NOT CARE ABOUT ACHIEVEMENTS:
press tilde (~) and type "r.Fog 0"

The light mist you see everywhere is part of what creates the god rays when the sun is shining. It's quite taxing on your system. Try quickly disabling global illumination and see what that looks like in comparison.
[SystemSettings]
r.Fog=0
r.HeightFog=0
r.ExponentialHeightFog=0
r.SupportAtmosphericFog=0
r.SupportSkyAtmosphereAffectsHeightFog=0
r.VolumetricFog=0

Put that at the bottom of Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini
I would like to know how to reduce fog in engine.ini for this game. I like fog, but I frequently find the game has excessive amounts of it and my eyes feel strained.

I agree. No fog looks bad, lots of fog looks bad. I would like a blend of both as well.

I suggest C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered\Saved\Config\Windows

Because going to the documents folder using the shortcut in windows explorer does not take you to the right location depending on how you have Windows 11 set up. Pasting what I posted in the bar at the top of windows explorer changing YourUserName to your User Name should work for almost anyone.
Just turn shadow quality down to low that will fix it. People are making it way to complicated.

If you wanna turn off rain you'd probably have to turn off Niagara fluid systems somehow. The rain plummets your fps.
Go to Settings, put your Brightness to 0 which is right in the middle. It'll kill the weird fog and make it to where when you use Nighteye, it's not a bright as hell light in your face where you can't see anything, and it'll actually make everything else in the game look a whole lot better.
Try this mod, it doesn't completely disable fog but it makes it so much more reasonable.
