Leveling and Magic System
Can anyone confirm that the old fashioned systems of fighting, leveling, and magic are in this game?
I'm kind of scared they improved the graphics and then just added in the Skyrim type of systems.

Yeah they've merged the systems from Skyrim and Oblivion. Honestly that change has made me buy it.
I love oblivion but the major/minor skill system, coupled with the enemy scaling, was *not* a point in the games favour.

Wait are you implying that the dumbest rpg mechanic ever invented was removed? I'm talking about level scaling, i hated this back then already. What's the point of levelling if i have to realize that i have been leveling my enemies too?

Yeah but he just said it's changed without elaborating, what exactly about the levelling is changed? Are stat gains x2,x3,x4 etc on level up still based on skill usage, how does the new system work?

Level scaling is still there. The multipliers are gone, you now get the same stat points on every level up and can allocate them how you choose.
Your favoured attributes just give you a starting bonus.

I am *so* glad they removed the attribute multipliers. It was always silly to bind something so important to something you had very little control over.

Okay that is great. Oblivion's levelling system is the worst system ever, gimping you unless you're heavily metagaming it.

Level scaling is awful too... but that much is well within the purview of mods to fix and tweak.

Damn, I actually liked Oblivion's levelling system. Punishing as hell if you did it wrong but extremely rewarding if you did it properly.
Did they at least keep acrobatics? Legit might refund if that's gone

There are no Mod support for this remaster. Its more a game pass titel.

I'm downloading now. That is amazing and exactly what I wanted. I used to use a mod for OG Oblivion and I couldn't go back.

The old system was still the most backwards thing I've seen to this day and should never have been used after Morrowind. It could not have been more anti-roleplay once you recognised the flaws.

ty for the info, i shouldn't of skipped over the announcement i guess lol. happy they reworked it, the systems in morrowind & oblivion tried to do some cool stuff but mostly gimped you if you didn't metagame

It's still in there. You can gain it by jumping around like in the original.
