Confused with armor ratings and weapon damage between iron/steel etc
Just a quick question.

Any reason why the weapon I am proficient in has the same damage?

Example;

Iron longsword and Steel longsword have the same damage. Silver on the other hand is double that.

Iron vs steel armor is also the same.

Any reason why?

Im level 11 atm, and blade is at 40 and strength is over 70.

So that means at level 20 and higher blade skill I will see Iron and Steel change?

I thought it might be a bug with Ascension mod or the Unofficial patch. lol

That's very likely, yes. Altough they will remain very close even with your stats maxed out, within a 2 or so damage difference, as iron and steel are adjacent tiers of quality.

Thanks!

Don't forget to work on Armorer skill too. Once you get to 75 Armorer, you can repair stuff to 125 condition. This adds 12.5% to the damage the weapon deals when it's at 125 condition.

Level has no impact on weapon damage.

Weapon damage is determined by tier of the weapon, str or agi, and the appropriate skill.

Damage = WeaponRating * ( Fatigue / MaxFatigue + 1 ) / 2 * max( SneakMultiplier, PowerAttackMultiplier ) * OpponentArmorRating * OpponentWeaponResistance

WeaponRating = BaseWeaponDamage * ( 0.75 + Attribute / 200 ) * ( 0.2 + ModifiedSkill * 0.015 ) * ( WeaponHealth / BaseWeaponHealth + 1 ) / 4
