Updated my Nvidia Drivers, now the game struggles to even load a single interior
Did I miss something? this driver update seems to have completely destroyed the game's stability to load any asset.... It actually hardlocked my entire pc just trying to go back to the main menu (arguably the easiest task for the game to complete)

Have you tried recompiling the Shader cache, if you haven't that's almost certainly why
Recompile your shader cache. Now it mismatch with the new driver.

head to documents/mygames/Oblivion Remastered/Saved and delete all inside except SaveGames.

Then right click the game on steam, propreties -> startup arguments and add:
-clearPSODriverCache

Start the game, it will rebuild your shader cache.

Remove the extra startup argument from steam as you don't want to have it the next startup.

Thank you for explaining. Sorry just to clarify since i want to do it but afraid to mess anything up. This process forces the game to recompile but keep the savefiles intact?

I can confirm this works, had my back up pc's 3060 have a nvidea update and it bricked the game, done this solution and everything is working fine again. Thanks REM. I Will probably need to do it on my 4090 but that's for later

I installed the Nvidia app to use DLSS4 (instead of DLSS Swapper) not for driver and Doom the dark ages spam.

When you have a driver that is not acting up and causing problems just keep it. It was always good practice and certainly now where Nvidia keeps messing up their driver releases recently.

Just nuked the Nvidia app after it felt like using my system to give me a commercial break.

If they want screen space they need to pay me for it.

You should do the same.

Thank you for this REM, the game automatically recompiled shaders last time I updated the driver but will probably not do this every time, so good to know how to force it!

I haven't tried this way but this doesn't impact your settings or save games if it works.

-clearPSODriverCache

The other way you need to ensure you don't delete your save game files you only actually need to delete one file i think called setting_config or something like that I'm not at my PC. If you delete all files in that folder it will delete your save games. After you delete that file you will loose any setting or key bind changes you made though.

Try pulling out your ram memory blowing it and insert it back again, used to work in the 90s.

Make sure to not delete the SaveGames folder as i said above, and your save files will not be lost, that is where saves are stored.
Also if you are 100% positive your steam cloud is working, its an extra step you can avoid (but be sure cloud is working and enabled)
