Oblivion isnt a game, its a mood

I see a lot of people getting frustrated at oblivion for not being like other games. And i kind of did too the first 10 hours. I never played oblivion before. I made a rage post saying this is dull. Its really not. The amount of random objects, the outfits, the weird weapons, the strange methods of obtaining unique npc items is a 50-100hr game in ITSELF!

people want to level up fast and get good gear like its elden ring or something lol. Dont do that!

i did a new game and just got all of baurus blades gear and his unique katana. And apparently upon reaching lv5 if i dont hand amulet to jauffre, i can go get uriel septims BIG FLOOFY jacket???? No way!

the game has a crazy amount of easily missable quests and other oddities, you will never have a similar playthrough to someone else. its so cozy and relaxing omg. And the quests are strange and sometimes only given in weird circumstances

The first time (many years ago) i ever attempted oblivion i minmaxxed my stats to become really strong and it just made me depressed and bored. DOnt do that. In fact dont level up at all. Im 35 now and i actually enjoy games more now than i did as a youngster.

im trying to get every clothing in the game before reaching lv5, then i think at lv5 the enemies will wear different clothing/armor (not entirely sure)

We are PC master racers, use the dev console, make your own base, spawn a chest, type fov 10 to zoom in on strange things across the map like the ultimate pair of binoculars, type just fov to restore fov to default, go outside the map then spawn standing torches to light up the strange empty rooms that nobody has ever seen before. Get codes for lit braziers and things and really explore the game. Use runspeed jumps to get on the tallest buildings and drop all your clay cups and brooms on top (you can see them from the ground its funny)

turn off fog (r.fog 0), play around with ghost, fly, (type walk to stand on solid ground again) check outside of each cell, enjoy the surreal mood that is unmatched by other games

Oblivion is my favorite game of all time, i have been playing the original since 2006 when it came out. When the remaster came out i bought it right away, i also bought skyrim when it came out in 2011 but i found it hard to get into and missed spellcrafting so i went back to playing oblivion.

the way you are talking makes methinks you would love morrowind also, morrowind is a spell crafting CIRCUS!! Im pretty sure you can just straight up levitate/float in morrowind

Yeah it's pretty hype. The sun rolling in over the hills, accurate shadows, believable reflections, transparency, particle effects everything. I would say its the best use of this gpu so far... 4060ti 16gb vram, 12700kf. dlss quality w/1440p target, lumen normal, all medium (shadows) but view distance, post process, textures on high

Frame gen off, 4060 not 'nough for frame gen or it just aint there yet

when you get a chance try r.fog 0, the whole lighting system recalibrates once its disabled and look stunning (especially indoors because all indoors in this game has unncessary fog)

Sometimes it's foggy, sometimes it isn't, I like the fog, covers up the LOD's.

seems like a big enough space underground to fog up. its very atmospheric. I don't think it needs any changes at all. I'm also a freak Khajiti using a long duration Night Eye spell as one of my main 8 though

12700kf can easily click pop out button to overlay youtube on cryengine games while also having 30 tabs and 3 different browsers. my browser has sound effects and shaders. I can game while im tapping out transfers to a HDD or burning an optical disk.
