Alchemy is weak
I have mastered alchemy. I have all the master gear for alchemy. Why are my potions still weak? The numbers are so small, I don't have them in front of me, but the potions I am making are still worth the same as when I started. I have a poison I make that paralyzes for 3 seconds, silences for 26 seconds, and does I think 8 damage for 30 seconds. This potion sells for the same as the weakest potions I was making when I started trying to level alchemy. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to increase the power of my potions that I don't see?

idk about the prices but that potion is anything but weak. 8 for 30s is insane

Are you using Master Alchemy tools? Not only does your Alchemy skill level determine potency and duration of Potions, but also using the best Alchemy tools will increase the potency and duration slightly as well.
i just use alchemy to make coin
low on cash = craft 400 restore fatigue potions and sell them
plus i like picking flowers.... dont judge me!

Paralyze has always been short duration, longer would be busted.
26 seconds of silence completely F^&% a caster over.
And that damage is 8 per second for 30 seconds IE 240 damage.
Keep in mind poisons can stack as well....

And that is just base level alchemy.
Combine it with a weapon that causes weakness to poison and it gets insanely good.
Mage Tower House: Boosts potions when making at the alchemy bench, it can help a little.

I don't think Alchemy can go over 100 though, even with the altar in Frostcrag. So if you have maxed Alchemy already, it's useless.

Correct they limited scaling from skills to cap at 100
That being said scaling from stats seems to have no limit so there are a number of things that can be broken with short duration spells & enchantments.

I think that's just the way it works. Every potion that I make sells for 57g. Doesn't matter if it's a single restore fatigue potion or something that has multiple effects.

Crafting potions to make money might be a good thing at the start of the game. But it's not necessary after the first couple of hours playing. There's so many other ways to earn money and nothing to really spend it on.

The real beauty of alchemy is creating potions and poisons that are actually useful for your game play.
You reached Master Alchemy and obtained all 4 Master items and you're still worried about gold? How?

I can't really speak to the money side of Alchemy in Oblivion. But I did play an archer in original Oblivion and maxed out on Alchemy. Poisoning a bow with a crafted potion would drop an Ogre in just a few seconds seconds. Crafted potions get very, very powerful in Oblivion, even if it takes a few seconds to let them work. When you can get that much power of of high-level potions .....
Okay but you don't need to sell potions when fallen humanoid enemies are throwing expensive armor and potions at you, jfc bethesda...

I guess you are coming from the perspective of selling potions for gold and not use. I think it is bugged as it just seems to base the price on the first effect. As far as using that poison to apply to a weapon I would say it is very powerful to the point it would negate any need to fight especially if using a bow as you could just shoot then kite until they fell over.

Sell value says nothing about how effective the thing is. Whether it's potions or enchanted gear, pretty much anything the player makes will always sell for pennies. This is by design, to make you go out, explore, and find loot instead of camping in town until rich.

Paralysis in Oblivion is OP as hell, three seconds ends up being closer to 10-15 when you factor in animations standing back up as well. Silence for 26 turns off mages altogether, which barely matters because Paralysis has the same function. 8 damage times 30 seconds is 240 total damage, or up to double that if you're applying a poison-weakness debuff. This is more than enough to one-tap most regular enemies that arn't spamming healing to counteract it, which they can't do because paralysis locks them down for around half the duration to begin with. It's a brutal poison in spite of the modest-looking numbers.
Alchemy is one of the best ways to make money in the game. As soon as you get the chance to level it, your making money hand over first. You get two potions for one set of ingredients and can end up stacking several hundred potions with ease.

Simple things like a daedre heart & cairn boulet cap which are both extremely abundant can create potions of healing that make you invincible with 25+ healing per second for 20 mins at a time.

Potion stacks. Poison stacks. 8 for 30s is freaking strong. Enchant your dagger with weakness to poison amplify it further with weakness to magicka. Cast it multiple time and your poison suddenly instant kill anything. Other than Argonian that is since they are immune to poison. But whether it is on Master or Expert difficulty, if they are not immune to poison, they are dead.

For fortify and restore health. As I said potions stacks. And you can stacks 10+ potion. Craft multiple feather potion and you pretty much can carry afew tons of loots. Craft fortify speed? Skooma is still better but it is harder to find than the ingred for crafting fortify speed. You have no armor? Just drink a bunch of shield potion and you are as hard as someone wearing full daedric. You have dont have attronah birthsign? Just craft a bunch of absorption drink 6 of them and you are pretty much immune to spell. Alchemy is disgustingly broken in this game.
