Something went bad wrong...
So I have been playing this for awhile and it has been fine. Doesn't run great but i put up with it for the time being. However now anytime I load any of my files the game immediatley crashes and kicks me out. What the hell happened? Was there any updates that changed things?

This is what it says. I have no idea what this means.

Let me know if you have any suggestions, or if anyone knows how to stop the constant stutter. The stutter is not random, its about every second or two. I was overlooking this but it has just gotten way too annoying.

WHERE were you in the game? For some of us, there are still KNOWN locations that will repeatedly crash (with these same messages)- for me the biggest/frequently occurring one is the main entrance and 'front-half) of Cyatatar, and a few ruined keeps at the far edges of the map. However, if I use the secret entrance into Cyatatar, and go ONLY into the first (end boss?) room- it NEVER crashes. If you have a save game with your character located away from your most recent location- perhaps try loading that (or if you are at least ABLE to load the current save- move out of the area immediately (perhaps to Imperial city?).

I've checked all the useless patches and mods from the net.

To fix the crashing issue, you need to install an older driver. Version: 576.52
The game has stopped crashing completely
For some reason oblivion just starting crashing frequently when I attempted to load a saved game or when I opened a door......

Forcing the shaders to recompile completely fixed it. I followed the steps in this post and it fixed it.

You will have to re-set you graphics & game settings ect & the game will take some time to recompile shaders when you next start it, however this fixed the constant crashing which has just suddenly started occuring for me.

I don't know what caused this but it feels like something changed last week that has caused issues for a number of people. And NO i have not update my GPU drivers, they are still last years to avoid Nvidia's crapstastic attempts at "software engineering" in 2025.
Well I tried reloading a previous save and it seems to work know. I also moved the files to my SSD and things are running much smoother. I wonder if this means that some places in the game are just not gonna be accessible.
i hate when things go badong
I ran into an interesting crash session over the weekend. Discovered Battlehorn Castle, and as I was touring it, the game crashed on me. Wouldn't load my save without crashing immediately. I thought it might be my mods so I updated all of them, but no, it still crashed. Eventually I just used the previous save and that worked. I still have no idea what caused the problem since I've been able to tour the place just fine now.
Looks like a memory address hang but i'm not that up to date..
