Disabling achievements for using the console to fix bugs is dumb.
Oblivion is a fun but buggy game. That's why it has a console on PC for fixing things on the fly.

For example if I understand correctly: If you contract Porphyric Hemophilia, save before a bed, sleep and reload, you get into a buggy state where the game thinks you have vampirism and the NPCs won't talk to you, but you don't and can't cure it.

Fixing it is as simple as using `set PCVampire to 0`. If it wasn't for this dumb achievement disabling mechanic.

I agree. Stupid move by Bethesda.
I wholeheartedly agree, and I've felt that way since Skyrim's Legendary Edition. I think that was the first game I experienced where the achievements shut off for using the console. All of Bethesda's games do this, though. It's ridiculous. They support modding your game to make it more fun/interesting but they disable achievements the second you do something to help yourself in it. It's a singleplayer game, not a multiplayer race for the best. And there's always a mod to re-enabled them, so really it's a pointless feature to add.

I frequently used the console on both Skyrim(legendary and now anniversary) and it never disabled achievements. Same with FO4.
Starfield was the first that I saw where it did. And SFs was completely borked. Not only did it disable it for that play session. It disable it for the ENTIRE GAME. The saved you used it for. Old saves, new saves, new games. You literally had to go into the game files and delete the a file that kept track of whether or not you had used the console. And then ALSO delete every save file made after using the console. Dont know if they ever fixed that. But I havent touched the console since, out of fear. And havent used it in this remaster either, for the same reason.
I'm not sure what editions you have, but I know for a fact that Skyrim's Legendary Edition and Fallout 4 disabled achievements. I missed several especially in Fallout 4 and it wasn't until I noticed that my saves had the word "MOD" in front of them that I realized what was happening.

Yeah... they didn't want to fix any of the thousands of bugs from the original for the remaster, but yet they don't want you to use the console.
