There are numerous game breaking bugs like the above that will require a patch on the part of the developers.
(the above for instance is caused by a memory leak that can trigger any time the game saves or loads and is more likely to happen the more hours are in a save game file)
There are also numerous things that can be done by the player to prevent some other bugs.
Hopefully they patch at some point, the fact that so many game breaking bugs from the original (like the above) are still present however makes me wonder if they actually will patch them out (modders literally had to last time)
