I did with original Oblivion, but haven't yet in the Remaster. I'm saving that until I decide to try the Thieves' Guild questline, where they become important. (Incidentally, you might want to cast "cure disease" on them before interacting with them; I remember, in original Oblivion, I once caught a disease from giving a beggar a coin)

It is apparently habit for me from the original release. Between me joining the thieves guild and eventually becoming a vampire who primarily feeds on beggars to keep the sun damage low, i already had a tendency to toss them a random septim pretty much anytime i end up bumping into one.

Money is really easy to get in this game anyway.

Cheap really and I think they like you more which can lead to rumors being given up

I always give them coins when I talk to them. Being a member of the Thieves' Guild, I feel obligated to ensure their loyalty. But if I have no use for them, I will usually walk on by without giving them anything.

They lie about their children though Oblivion has zero children..
