i have noticed the AI is more buggy and prone to just stand around in this version and it is noticeable/annoying
So much jank lol
As for your issue, people have already stated: fast traveling fixes disappearing companions.
Another option for you depending on how quickly you want to finish this stage of the quest is to just have him follow you around while you do other stuff. Since he is essential and can't die. He will help you fight anything that you come into contact with. He will even heal you if you get hurt.
More jank than the original, since I don't recall seeing that in the original game from 2006 nor on the "2009" game on Steam, or even the GOG DRM Free version (which may have more bug fixes than even the 2009 version).
I did it in two saves, no issue at all.
Nope. You can keep repeating that , but anyone can fire up the original version on either 2009 or GOG version and see that isn't true.
Even the 2005/2006 version that isn't true, and certainly not for the GOTY edition that was on PS3.
But you can keep pretending it is by parroting mindless influencer talking points.
Fact is, this game is even more broken than the original.
