Have nvidia drivers been ok lately? 4070ti-super here
when i got my 4070ti-super like 6 months ago, the drivers were fine and i played like 100 different games old and new

then when the 5000 series came out, i noticed a LOT of new driver updates pretty much every week was a new driver.. These drivers were bad in my opinion.

So i rolled back to the latest driver before that wave-of-5000-series-updates and everything is fantastic again

im tempted to update drivers again to see if nvidia got their stuff sorted out

4070 Ti Super here and I haven't updated my drivers in a few months. I've had zero issues with any game that was the fault of NVidia (some were the fault of the game itself, that was Hotfixed out).

576.02 No issues on a 3090. I am keeping this one for a while.

Does it seem like the drivers got more wonky after the 50xx cards came out? There was some issue with the card not reporting temperatures and seems like maybe some performance regression. Maybe it's just me but I have been staying away from the newest drivers until the dust settles.
I was running the latest drivers for my 3080 about a month ago, then while playing GTA 5 enhanced it BSOD'd. I then rolled back to the December 566.36 driver and have had no issues since. I did have an overclock on my GPU at the time of BSOD so that could have been the cause. Either way, I reverted back to stock clocks afterward and then used DDU to uninstall those drivers and reinstall 566.36. I figured it was better safe than sorry when it came to all the issues I had been hearing about.
Using 566.03 for my 4090. I'm not updating the driver until I see irrefutable evidence from numerous sources that Displayport works again and the black screen issues are fixed. I am very concerned that there are other underlying issues that could damage the GPU (overheating was a potential issue), so I am staying on this driver just in case.

exactly my same thoughts

im just gonna use these drivers forever lol
Dont update your driver then lol. i just had to roll mine back to 576.02 because i couldnt last 5 minutes ingame without crashing with gpu fill dump with 576.40

Current drivers seem to be good.
For Nvidia users, the general advice is turn off ALL the things.
G-Sync is a problem, so are various other knick-nacks.

i find that to be true with PC gaming in general

just fiddling around with every games settings like fullscreenmode/borderless mode/vsync on/vsync off/ trying nvidias vsync instead, messing with pre rendered frames. Just fiddle with them all until a game turns into a liquid smooth rendering

it took me like 20yrs of pc gaming to realize that, just fiddle fiddle fiddle. Vsync is not your enemy in singleplayer games!

did you know you can make even gta3 feel as smooth as cod4:MW just by fiddling around with vsync/triple buffering settings in nvidia control panel? I made it feel so buttery smooth it felt wrong lol

also lately ive been finding that vsync on AND 60fps cap together is actually better performance than just vsync alone, strange but its been true for me.. A lot of times.

sorry my OBS bitrate settings are at the lowest setting, but i seriously dont get stutters in oblivion remastered anywhere

4060ti here...no issues with latest drivers.
Still using 566.14 drivers from november 2024, no issues. Had issues with another game (Stalker 2) with the drivers after that and haven't bothered to update since.

Note that if you do update your drivers you need to manually recompile shaders for Oblivion.

Nice video. I just made a thread to show off my test video of stutters to see how others feel about the one micro stutter someone pointed out. We have other issues that could be solved and talked about beside stutters and gender BS.
