The Only Sexy Characters In Oblivion Are Monster Girls. Why?

Well if you didn't notice yet. Oblivion Remastered has removed everything feminine from the original game. They removed femininity from the shrines and statues you see around you. Like the shrine of Meridia. They removed all female versions of all the conventional armour sets. Leather, Iron, Steel, Glass, Ebony, Amber you name it. It's all gone and it is not just armor. They removed all clothing articles that would complement the feminine form. But that doesn't apply to non conventional forms of sexuality and Sexual fetishism in the game. This remaster has characters that ask you about the fine for necrophilia in cyrodiil. But you are not allowed to have dresses that show a woman shoulders or clothing that show any cleavage. They removed those dresses from the game completely. They removed bikinis and sports bra too.

You want a good example? Go in arena district. There you will find a couple sparring outside of the arena. A lizard-man and a woman. Look at what the woman is wearing. She use to have a sports bra on. Not any more. By the way the lizard-man was topless in the original and he is still topless now. They removed everything that had to do with femininity from the game. Except for the monsters. Monster girls are the only characters with sexuality in the game. Take the spider Deedra woman for example. She still has a cleavage showing although they still reduced her breast size. Same goes for the Spriggan and the flame atronach. They have hourclass figures with plenty of curves and they can show cleavage on both ends. Unlike their human counterparts. But no you are not allowed to have the same thing for any of normal human characters. Not in the games that are coming out of western studios anyway.

The funny part is western companies are still wondering how Asian studios and indie devs manage to eat their lunch month after month after month. They forget that video-games exist only for entertainment and escapism. And yes good looking women are entertainment. It always was and it always will be. In fact good looking characters of all stripes are entertaining to look at. But western studios still refuse this very obvious fact about human preferences. If you had to chose between having a boring character that's ugly and a boring character that looks like Chris Hemsworth. I bet that you would chose to to be looking at Chris Hemsworth even if you are dude too. To have ugly characters in your game well your characters need to have character and personality. Your characters need to seductive for the mind instead of the eyes. And that is not easy to do for non critical NPCs.

Until western studios remove the people that make these design decision from their companies western studios of all sizes will be in line for the chopping block of bankruptcy. Especially during the upcoming market down turn. At the very least they need bar all design decisions that damage the entertainment value of their products. So the question is. Why do they still allow this to take place? It's not that they do it for modesty. They are perfectly ok with sexuality monster characters and furries after all. Why do they continue to refuse to entertain their customers?

Mithril armor looks nice. Same with auriel and mazken armor. A few armors like leather look bad and you spend 20 minutes to go all chicken little.

This "principled" caterwauling against a lack of "sexy girls" in a video game that is not even tangentially about sex is definitely sending a message.
