So we have multiplayer for up to four people via LAN and Internet in the game. In multiplayer, each dungeon lord has his own dungeon and can freely build it however he likes. All of the player dungeons are connected to one single overworld map. As evilfying parts of the overworld is crucial to getting evilness which you need to upgrade your dungeon, players will soon by battling for control over the overworld, snatching sectors left and right. However, you can also go into the other players dungeon and try to eliminate him completely. If you send your units into an enemy dungeon lord's dungeon, you still control them directly, RTS style, like in the overworld. The defending player, however, uses the dungeon hand controls because he is in his own dungeon. But he can use spells and he can use traps/doors to defend his dungeon. And he can obviously see all of his dungeon while the attacking player only sees what his units see. Both players using different controls leads to some very interesting matches. It works best in domination and king of the hill mode. Deathmatch tends to take a long while because it is very hard to completely destroy your opponent. We are still tweaking that though.
Hope this answers your question. I am sure we will do a multiplayer twitch stream before launch though.
Many greetings,#
Chris
Hi Chris
So what you are saying is there is no skirmish vs an AI dungeon lord...
Are there any plans for this as it would be outstanding.
This is not possible, but you can e.g. team up with a friend of yours and compete against two other human opponents in e.g. Team Deathmatch.
-cheers
sorry really not a big fan of pvp
While the post lasts, i was wondering, are you ever going to make an Alliance Vs Lord gamemode? One player controls alliance and has a new way of playing it with units (a money timer and then money for units etc) And whoever kills Hero Boss (DungeonLord Replacement) first / Hero Boss defeats all Dungeron Lords Wins?]
Overworld houses can be upgraded with money, adding more space for heroes, can re-build a house, making it into a tavern and can be built with some 100 gold and with 3 'Builder Units' and they must be escorted to the only building space for the Tavern (Near dungeon entrance, it on timer, spawns normal units like spearmen) and then extra buildings (Defence towers, certain restrictions around per tavern) and etc. Im going to put a full post on how this could work, ok?
maybe a DLC idea
