Dungeons 2 Undead DLC
I bought and enjoy the Dungeons 2 DLC for the Undead but I find the campaign to ramp up in difficulty WAY too sharply on mission 3. I've never beaten mission 3 but I would like to at least see what the other maps are like. Does anyone know the map names for Config.cfg for the undead maps?

Under %AppData%\Kalypso Media\Dungeons 2\Config.cfg
campaign.undead.progress = ??

I did an internet search after I (just now) discovered this configuration file but couldn't find anything.

tips for undead copyed from an other threads. (i made no edits for context so there is a lot information more then ones)

Every factions tier 1 units are weak or there tier 2 and 3 are simple better (example hord: why go with a simple orc when you could have a berserker or a tanker?) and should be replaced, but you can mix tier 2 and 3 they are sometimes worth it. Best example would be the naga of the hord faction there tier 2 is a healer and the tier 3 is a ranged dps.
But i had the same feeling that undead tier 1 is absolutly worthless.

Skeletons before the bow upgrade die to fast in meele.

banshee or whatever the tier 1 unit was called (ghost?) is absolutly worthless as a caster (you need to upgrade to use the spell) in meele with even less hp then the skeletons.

Bats they are a joke, they are fast but that is contra productive as in that way they will be the first to be fokust, but with the hp leech upgrade everything that does not 3 hit them (so almost everything) they can somewhat put up a fight.
But to be fair if they could survive long enough and with there upgrades they could do realy good dps for a tier 1.
So basicaly this unit is a banshee with possible good dps, but not needed for resources.
But the real kicker is later at tier 3 they will upgrade into our strongest/coolest unit.

Zombies are the only tier 1 unit worth something, as in they die not instantly as you look at them funny, but still die relativly fast. And less dps then all your other units, except for the banshee i dont count for there lack of survivability and i honestly dont remember.
Maybe somewhat better with there resurrection upgrade but its on a long cooldown (i have never seen it happen) and you have more pressing tech to do and by the time you have the time/gold to do that upgrade you most likly should have replaced your zombies already.

If you tech a special unit tech first, go for the bow upgrade of skeletons at least that way they can somewhat savely pump there dps.

What i would try to do is skip bats and try to go for more zombies at tier one, and just build the minimum you need of banshees and skellets for there resourcess production and/or somewhat better dps.
Or basicaly build as many zombies early as you can afored without hurting your eco, even if you think you are desperead a cheeper bat that dies almost instantly and has no workplace, is still worth less.

Later when you can upgrade to tier 2 go for maybe 2 bats, the gremlin upgrade has a realy strong spell and can work in the graveyard. They are still meele with low hp, so after the first time you use there spell and its on cooldown anyway they will most likly die first and will help raise anything that died.
As you near tier 3 count how many zombies bzw. ghouls you can replace for nosferatu they will lvl fast enough, but of course not all of them, as there tier 2 is a good dpser with regen and the tier 3 is a REALY heavy tank unit.

In the campain i just tech as fast as i can for upgrades, as i said already except for the zombies somewhat, tier 1 undead are absolutly worthless.
If i remember correctly demons have more or less the same problem.

And in general if you can build your dungeon so the zombies will be at the enemy first so they can tank some damage and the other units can pump there dps. even if you hurt your tech time.

I kind of suspected the nosferatu swarm ability to be op but dident do any serious vs. testing. or maybe i thought its just to of set for the abysaal tier 1 of the undead.

Bats are almost worthless without upgrades, with them they can be the most potent tier 1 dps but they simple die to fast.

With skeletons you can research a ranged upgrade in your forge and you definitly should get it. They are to squischy to be front liners.

Zombies are your tanks you definitly should get them so your other units can do there dps and not die to fast.

Ghost/Wraith they die as fast as bats, are meele and dont do that much damage ..... BUT with research they can debuff, its an armor debuff thats gets even stronger as the enemy armor gets stronger.

Importent is building as fast as you are able a forge for zombies ( and also to get basic unit upgrades rolling, they will do them automaticaly when there is nothing else you have them research (free)) and a perfect graveyard.

Perfect means the graveyard is surrounded by walls + one or more doors (depending on how many exits you need), rooms have efficiancy and a graveyard that is not build like that will need to long to resurrect your undead.
Of course in general ALL your rooms should be "perfect" ones but at the start with digging and all its not always possible right away.

I dont know how/when you can upgrade to tier 2 in these skirmish maps but in generel rushing for tier 2 units is a very good idea.

You have to build/buy the "tank" units as fast as you can and support them with your dps units for does races.
Very simple

What do i mean by that?

With the Undead there tier 1 "tank" unit are the zombies and you need to build a ?forge? room and at least one of the "forge" buildings (3x3 space) before you can even start to recruit them.

With the demon i totaly forgot the name ?firedemon? maybe? Its the unit you can start to hire when you build at least one demonforge with building. (be careful its the least tanky one)

To narrow it down even more if some people dont understand already which room i mean, its the room where you do your unit upgrades, like for example faster digging speed.

Horde has 1 major advantage, there basic unit is tanky and still does a good amount of damage (Orcs), in mobas you would call him a bruiser.
But even they will die realtivly fast in comparison to there real tank unit (troll) if you dont support them with healers.

Thats THE MAJOR reason why horde feels so much tankier/easy.

But just because horde early is easier does in no way mean the other factions are useless.
Infact, by design a tier 3 army (or better a mix of tier 2 and 3) of undead/demons are slightly stronger then a horde one.

Tips for defending a early dungeon.

Basic
Build your forge room so that it is the first an invading army has to go through that means tanks are the first in combat and can do there job and tank.

Advanced
Do the same like in the basics BUT build at least a 2x2 guardroom in front of the forge room the enemys have to walk over, guard rooms have a expensive 2x2 "building" alarm call/horn. That means when enemys walk over the guard room the alarm will sound and all your units will rush to the guard room to defend your dungeon.
Bonus point for if you build a strong door between the guard room and the forge room.

You can even right click/slap the alarm horn to call all your units there without needing for enemys to walk over the room first.

UNDEAD SPECIFIC

BUILD A PERFECT GRAVEYARD! As fast as you can afford it.

Perfect means a room is surrounded by walls and as soon as you can 1 or more doors depending on how many exits you want/need to have.
Undead can not heal so a dead unit needs to resurrect at the graveyard. And the time before they are available again without a perfect room is way to long.
Its because rooms have a efficiency bar and they are more effective when it is closer to a "perfect" room.

General Tip

Of course the are also traps. And with the right setup. Or with the abuse of mechanics and your economy you can even make your dungeon safe from bards, with traps alone.

Yes you are at a slight disadvantage as demons/undead compared to horde but with your tier 2-3 upgraded units this will change dramaticaly so try to rush for does upgrades if you can.
I know, it sounds easier then it is but its worth it.

@Kando - What size would you recommend for the "Final Resting Place". I usually aim for 10 tier 2 units, 8 tier 3 units and 10 forgotten. The undead leisure space requirements seem much higher than either the Horde or Demon factions.

I never completed the second-to-last level, but this is the rest of the list
campaign.undead.progress = Crystal Fall Resurrection Hope Salvation Rise
