As for the game I suggest you try it out yourself. What do have to lose? It's only a 3gb or less download plus you got it for free like me. Only you can decide whether or not you'll like it since everyone has differen't opinions/likings.
I'm already looking forward to Dungeons 3 after playing this one.
but it offers diffrent things, like "deeper" roombuilding (while lacking overall roomdiversity, from what i have seen at least if you compare it to dungeon keeper), and a rts section in terms of the overworld.
the story and general worldbuilding is more like pretty flat and childish humor, but it fits the gamestyle enough to not be annoying.
I would not say Dungeons 2 is faithfull to the DK formula, if that were what you were looking for you should look at war of the overworld more, that does NOT mean Dungeons 2 is bad, in fact I far prefer Dungeons 2 of war of the overworld, even though I loved DK2 as well (some of the main differences between DK formula and Dungeons 2 being that you actually have to manually recruit troops in Dungeons 2 where in DK (and War of the overworld) they spawn automatically out of the portal, as well as having to research upgrades and the like for your troops in Dungeon 2 as well. Is definatly in the same genre as DK, but is not a faithfull copy, one of the few that actually does it right without copieing imo, most dungeon managements games, just fails to captire the essense of what makes the genre great
