yea, non-kernel anti-cheat would be useless, deal with it

Same as kernel-level, but will not cause that damage.
1. It is useless for a coop game - it is not competitive thing, you are shooting birds with 172mm rounds.
2. kernel-level is still software level which means cheap external boards are easily bypassing it by the very design.

I don’t support trash so i don’t have to deal with it

tell that to all the people that had their saves bricked due to cheaters, it has nothing to do with coop or pvp

Bricked saves are less damage than installation of a kernel-level software.
Also, it is a game bug that must be fixed properly. Also it happened to a low percent of people compared to direct damage to literally everyone.

no, it's not a bug, cheaters can corrupt your save and hardlock your game progression

no, it's not, you have literally hundreds of ring zero drivers installed right now

It is fixable by simple backups. No need to fire nukes there.

that's not a fix, that's a precaution

you're basically saying cheaters should have free reign and fromsoft shouldn't try to curb cheaters that can ruin your game cause you can make a backup?

kernel ac isn't a "nuke", it's standard anti-cheat

Yes, each of them is a potential vulnerability. Except those are much better tested and really necessary.
This crap has no excuses - it does not fix anything by the very design. Software level can't beat hardware level.

No, it is not standard, it is anti-consumer crap that should be avoided!

then you should stop using computers cause pretty much everything is a "potential vulnerability"

feel free to avoid it all you want, i'll be enjoying the game with less cheaters than there would be without it

What I am saying - you should not do direct damage to consumers
- especially if you do more damage than preventing
- especially if you do not prevent anything by design

No, you will not. Again, by the very design.

anti-cheat isn't damage to consumers, quite the opposite, you don't know how anything works and don't know what you're talking about

Go click every single banner you see and run every single executable you find.
This is about reasonable risc - this one has no excuses at all, it prevents nothing and causes direct damage.
