ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

So is this going to be From soft's version of monster hunter?
As title says, is it like their own version of monster hunter? As in we are just farming bosses, or is it more story driven?

The former, you'll explore and survive until facing a boss while the circle shrinks.

You can also run and jump, so this is also their version of Mario.

The world getting smaller/circle getting tighter is literally the only similarity between the two.

Nightreign is purely PvE and offers zero PvP. It's a solo/3 people coop game that is more roguelike with different classes to choose from.

Why do people feel the need to describe things by "is this just <insert unrelated game here>"... let the game be what it is, no need to stretch the definition of game design concepts just to appeal to an analogy that serves no purpose to begin with :)

Because it's new and unreleased, so it's pretty much all people can do when describing the game for now.
I don't think it's a big deal. Everone's kind of throwing everything around and there's some very interesting comparisons.
I wish

Not true at all! You can describe the game like it was described in the press interview! Most of the comparisons made about this game that I've seen so far are "wow, this is just a copy of X game", which fall apart once you read the interview... so why not just start there in the first place?

What is a clawn?

if you mean those birds that you can hang on too, well thats nothing new and thats not fast travel in MHW. Thats just a zone transition. You dont control where you go too.

Fast travel = between camps.

Nothing about this is remotely similar to Monster Hunter beyond fighting repeatable bosses.

it depends on wether the good items are far away from the starting point.
the old MH games are battles against time, where you need powerups to proceed solo or play very recklessly to save every second you can.

Solo could very realistically become just like the old MH games if From doesnt adjust it properly. I think we dont know yet wether time progession stops in the boss fights.
